5 hour energy is not highly caffeinated. It's got about as much as a cup of coffee.

Namely, it is a massive amount of B vitamins designed to kick-start your metabolism.

Can't these farking retards even read the ingredients label?

The 5-Hour Energy TV commercials have a sleazy amateuristic quality that I find completely revolting. I would never buy a product advertised that way.
Plus the whole "5-Hour Energy" crap is so contrived. Just call it Caffeine-in-a-Bottle. At least then I'd respect what they're trying to sell.

When I see women starting a campaign to prevent prostate cancer then I'll start collecting pink ribbons.

Silly, women don't have prostates.

And apparently you don't realize that "support" goes one way. It goes with the territory: when was the last time a woman you were dating bought you a drink or took you to dinner? Unless things changed in the past few years, you had to be officially engaged by buying her a big diamond before she'd think of even going dutch.

Of course once you're married she'll buy you things, using your joint checking account or your credit card number.

The last time women supported men's health issues was the early days of AIDS, and even the it was gay women supporting gay men getting treatment. Not exactly applicable to ordinary everyday hetero experience: when straight men have a problem they're supposed to suck it suffer silently or get bootstrappy and cure themselves somehow.

Maybe this helps account for "FTM" transsexuals: manhood has so many drawbacks. Nor are gay men are immune to the inherent punishments: they're not "non-men" just another kind of man, with more in common with straight guys than most people think about.

Five Hour Energy is absolutely disgusting. It tastes awful, gives me instant heartburn, and makes me feel mildly nauseous and jittery for about 30 minutes, then... nothing.

I've had it once, I won't have it again.

Interestingly, other similar "energy" / highly caffeinated drinks like Red Bull, Monster, Jolt, etc. have basically no effect on me at all. It's just Five Hour that makes me feel sick.

/seldom have any of them though

The One True TheDavid: twiztedjustin: But hey look on the bright side, you can buy them with food stamps!

A place I use to work at had an onsite concession stand, sold these for $5 per bottle. Even price gouging convenience stores only charged $2.49 for them

Very silly: they don't really have more caffeine than a couple cups of strong coffee (or one bladderbuster), and caffeine pills (NoDoze, Vivarin) are even cheaper per dose.

People are so stupid.

Its all about the B vitamins, not the caffeine, but still stupid. They do nothing for me.

When I see more men lining up to have their prostate examined I'll eat those sour grapes.

Ugh. I want to puke when I see their commercials. They can't be good for you. That much caffeine (they won't even tell you how much -- that's a bad sign) and taurine and whatever else they dream up, all in just 2 ounces! Ugh.

Had a bunch of vodka red bulls one night -- the hangover the next day and how sick my body felt convinced me that the red bull was much much worse for my body than the vodka.

GibbyTheMole: Bullshiat. I downed a 5-hour energy shot this morning followed by a 34 oz. mug of coffee with 4 Stok shots in it, and I feel... ACK!!! - - *thud*.

If you really died, you wouldn't have bothered to spell it out.

I thought pink was bad anyway. Weren't they the ones that stopped supporting Planned Parenthood because the conservative butthurt squad didn't think it fell in line with their repugnant values?

How about "fumble"?

"Fumbling the fetus" does have a certain ring to it...

My keyboard is not compatible with the coffee I just snarfed. Going to go to hospital for 3rd degree nostril burns now.

Doesn't Tylenol (Acetaminophen) cause about 450 something deaths a year by people taking WAY too much of the stuff? That's what happens when you over exceed the stated dosage morans. 5 hour clearly states not to drink more than 2 in a day. Cafeine can obviously kill you if you take too much. Hell, so can water. Stop being a moran and blaming others for your stupidity

Redbull is the largest energy drink company and according to their website RedBull sold 4.631 Billion cans worldwide in 2011. And 5 hour energy and monster are making money hand over fist. So with millions of cans/energy shots being sold in the US every year, if there's only 13 deaths that might maybe have involved them in the last 4 years I'm not sure I see that there's a real problem.

Needlessly Complicated: Did they die after drinking one or possibly more than one? 5 hour energy doesn't seem to have any one thing that could be THAT dangerous in small quantities. If you slammed a few of these in one sitting, that could be a problem. I dunno. Like Dr. Tran, I'm not a doctor.

Obviously, they died after drinking more hours of energy than there were hours in a day.

5 Hour Energy drink does not have a high caffeine content. Redline however.... bottled meth. Friend of mine was a former meth addict, took a sip of Redline and said it was much stronger than anything he had ever done.

Most likely due to the cardiac arrest

KrispyKritter: people at dunkin donuts get large extreme caffeine joes with turbo shots and sugar tossed in for extra goodness. somehow their brains don't explode.

Because it's diluted in the water so your body absorbs it over a greater period of time

Well it took 7 posts to realize that, so apparently it's the equivalent of Chinese arithmetic in the linguistic world. Well-played.
