I see sanity and reason continue to be the norm between Israel and their neighbors.

Stop killing each other you morans! Stop hating that you have no control over each other and just live in farking peace already. Missle strikes do nothing but make everyone look down on you both. Revenge, speculation and threat of attack are not 'acts' that need a physical response immediately- talk it out first you morans!

This is shocking! The southern part of Israel has seceded from the rest of the country? Is the north of the country now known as North Israel? Why was I not informed?

News Flash? Really?

The two sides have been killing each other on and off for the past 5000 years.

This isn't news.

How many people killed in the retaliatory rocket strikes?

Trick question. Palestinians aren't people.

Yeah! How dare Israel fight back when Hamas terrorists indiscriminately launch rockets against civilian targets in Israel! Those damned Israelis should just sit there and do nothing when Hamas fires rockets at them! The nerve of them to actually defend themselves.

If hamas really cared about the lives of the Palestinians, they wouldn't be firing rockets from inside the populated gaza strip, knowing retaliatory strikes would be a certainty.

The soldiers and armed terrorists dont always stop and shoot at the explosives fired at them.

For in so much as people decry and condemn Israel, the disquisition between the IDF and their Palestinian counterparts is significant: one strikes at the military capabilities of their enemy, the other lobs rockets indiscriminately at the civilian population of their foe. Israeli strikes have, without question, inflicted civilian causalities. Hamas and Jihad conduct their attacks with the intent and desire to do so.

Yet it's always the Jews fault. I don't understand people.

Hamas is using obsolete soviet-era weapons they don't have the training to use and halfassed homebrew crap that's as likely to fire as explode in their face. They can't "target" anyone, they just fire in Israel's general direction and hope they hit someone. Actually despite how much Israel biatches about the fireworks, this is the first time I remember hearing about civilians actually getting killed by one.

Israel has fighters with laser-guided weapons, accurate ballistic missiles and other modern tech and they do collateral damage almost every time they retaliate- even Israeli media sometimes admits to killing someone who wasn't "a militant".

I personally think that both sides are nothing but racist terrorists operating under the banner of religion, and we should let them kill each other off.

Israeli strikes have inflicted far more civilian casualties, many times over, in every conflict with its neighbors since.... its existence.

I think the real news would be if the people in that part of the world weren't attacking each other.

The issue is that as the more powerful entity, Israel has the capability to end the fighting. But this is academic now. "no intention of ending this round of fighting" seems to indicate to me that Israel intends to take the Strip.

Now we get to watch Israel push the borders to the east, and take the rest of Palestine over the next twenty years.

Exactly. One better, you could even argue that Hezbollah--yes, I understand it does enjoy the significant geographic and political advantage the mountainous terrain and weakness of Lebanon provide--has, at the very least, made an effort to devote some of it's military capabilities to the actual means of war fighting beyond retaliatory missile barrages. It's as if Hamas has no intention of even attempting to repel IDF ground incursions beyond inducing international outcry from the civilian causalities such an operation would inevitability produce.

It's kinda hard not to when the ppl shooting at you continually hide in crowds of other ppl. They should just let them fire more rockets into israel, no problem here! Can't aim the dam things, so the chances of hurting anyone is very low, nothing to worry about! I don't know why they get so upset about the whole deal anyway!

The Palestinians would say it is in fact the exact opposite of what you said, though. That their side is targeting military targets, and the Israelis fire into Palestinian towns, not caring who they injure or kill.

In short, both sides are at fault, and both sides lie about their intentions. If either side thought they could annihilate their opponent without significant International uproar (and possibly third-party military action against them), I believe they would take that opportunity to rid themselves of the other side in this conflict. While everyday Israelis and Palestinians can get along just fine, their leadership cannot, and will not until either made to do so by the international community or their opponent is wiped off of the Earth.
