that looks fun. pity there was only 5 min of track...a few hours out, a few back would be a good afternoon. but you would need another car to pull the keg.

I really enjoyed the second segment when they were plowing through all the overgrown weeds & stuff on the tracks.

I never understood the fascination of rail riding, it's like going from a remote controlled car to a slot car track. I can MAYBE see if the rail happens to have nice scenery only accessible by an old rail, but those mountains and desert like the same from the road I'm sure.

I've got a brilliant idea for a business.

Buy a lot of land around a long stretch of abandoned track.
Set up automatic clay throwers.
Charge people money to ride a gizmo like this down the track with their shotguns and a few boxes of shells.
PROFIT!

Could also set up pop-up targets for a rifle/pistol version as well. It would be like the old days of buffalo hunting from the train as you rode from Kansas City to Amarillo.

Nice find. would be awesome to find out how long the trip actually is. in one direction, 5 minutes...the other did it keep going?

However, that cow nose ring just hits me wrong. tattoo your whole face, pierce your eyebrows, your cheeks, put in fake bumpy things in your scalp...i generally don't care but just seeing those nose rings just makes me all "rip it from your nostril"-y.

/can't stand weird placement of feet as people walk either.

Pretty sure that was 5 min in the first direction they went.

There are organizations that do a lot of this sort of thing. Maybe you could contact them and talk them in to giving you a ride.

When the rail line here was abandoned they took up the rails sadly. At least they are making it into a walking trail though.

That looks like so much fun, I wold totally do that if I lived down South.

Around here the sight lines are shorter--I'd always be worried I messed up and am going into a train's face.

I've always wanted to do something like this. That looks like tons of fun

That would be fun as hell up in Alaska. It would definitely need an adjustable wheelbase though, because of all the earthquakes and permafrost. You would also need a heavy rifle for the moose and bears, but it would be pretty awesome none the less.

I like how hipsters always wear hipster hats so you can easily identify them as being hipsters.

I've done this on a stretch of abandoned Rock Island track in a street legal dune buggy with wide, mag tires. Just ride up at an angle onto the tracks and let the rails kinda make a groove in the middle of the tires. no steering necessary.

If they were real hipsters, that thing would have been powered by one of those see-saw bar things.
