The MC of the event was Field Searcy, a man too crazy even for the Tea Party. Wow. Batshiat crazy doesn't even begin to describe it.

Yes, Obama leads a nefarious conspiracy that would have gone undetected except for some random dude in Georgia figuring it out.

Hint to all conspiracy theorists: the best evidence that the powerful, evil conspiracy you believe in isn't real is the fact you are alive. Obama can brainwash all of America into accepting a genocidal dictatorship, but he can't have someone go to your house and shoot you in the head?

"aided by [...] business groups like local chambers of commerce"

Uh.. I think the various chapters of the Chamber of Commerce are pretty much NOT trying to help anything the President wants to do.

It's a trial balloon, like all the layoffs "because of Obamacare" and other freaky bullsh*t. The far right is testing to see if it is time for the post-idiocy society.

Actually, the local Tea Party group in my area is deeply worried about Agenda 21 and it's impact on county politics.

This isn't about the time he went to Mars with Maj. Ed Dames, is it?

Oh, just mind control. Get back to me when he admits he went to Mars (and releases his transcripts from College of the Siskiyous in Weed, CA, for which I will donate $5.00 to the charity of his choosing).

According to one slide that was featured at the presentation, "Smart Growth and Sustainable Development are often promoted by NGO's, Chambers of Commerce and [public-private partnerships] that are unelected and unaccountable to the people." In August, when the Georgia Chamber of Commerce handed out its official grades for state legislators, Rogers got an A+.

Remember, these are the same rocket surgeons who *KNOW* that Bill Clinton -- despite the fact his getting a knob-shine from a Lane Bryant reject was international news for months -- is the most prolific, brilliant and stealthy serial killer in human history, with more than fifty perfect, untraceable murders committed by his own hand.

Obama doesn't need to exert any mind control powers or organize some vast conspiracy to make his will done.

He just needs to work with the House and Senate to pass legislation. But he's been pretty bad at that for 4 years. The upcoming Senate is a little bit more slanted in his favor, so he might have a bit more luck this time around.

Born in GA and lived there till I left for college. Now I go back for a max of 14 days to visit family, and you could not pay me to stay longer. The lady friend and I are both academics and it will take some hustling for us to find a job in the same place, but nothing is going to get me to set foot in that place in any permanent way.
I mean jesus christ--all the anti-gay/racist/xenophobic shiat is bad enough, but to add this crazy conspiracy crap to it? Do they really think GA is so internationally important, or such a vital resource to the US that anyone is going to expend the effort of a conspiracy theory to fark with it? Hell, if you want to slip something by the public in GA, tie it to a bill to restore the confederate flag or fire teachers or dump more raw sewage in the water--it'll pass. Maybe they need to defund MARTA a little more.
Sherman didn't do enough, he should have sealed the deal with salt.

/And the humidity, don't forget the damn humidity.
//If we give FL back to Spain, can we throw in GA?
///It's a derp sales event, everything must go!
//Also, giant flying cockroaches.

Well, how else do you explain how everyone in the coontry is suddenly a socialist hellbent on imposing an obama dictatorship? These are the only logical conclusions you can make when you solely watch fox news.

It would help if the Republicans would stop putting party before country and being obstructionist jackasses, but I'm not gonna hold my breath on that one.

Goddamnit GOP, stop encouraging this crap!

Maybe I worry too much, but with the level of craziness getting stirred up, it concerns me that we could end up with a whole legion of Tim McVey's out there, all ready to kill to save "their" country from "Those people". Yeah I know, 90% of the people raging online are talking out their asses. But that 10% could rack up quite a bodycount.

This is incredibly scary.
I expect stupdity and general insanity in Florida, but I had hoped it was mostly confined by the everglades, locked in like the Swamp Thing.
But it appears to have migrated north into Georgia, and my state is the next one in it's path.

...in which suburbanites will be forcibly relocated to cities.

So? I friggin' love living in the city after spending the last couple decades in boring suburbs. Within one block of my house I have

a much-beloved self-described "funky bar and cafe"
Excellent and cheap Mexican restaurant
Aikido dojo
that new craft cocktail place
interesting architectural antique store
gym
indoor fish farm
a couple tattoo places
the soup restaurant
LGBT hamburger joint
woo-woo store
handmade craft collective
another martial arts dojo
Jimmy Johns and a chain pizza place
ice cream parlor
live theater
upscale Mexican restaurant
the cocktail lounge/art gallery with salsa dancing
bakery
two very good local coffee roasters
the restaurant with 23 belgian-style beers on tap and 100 more bottled
the place next door to that with 60 craft brews on tap
the diner with the entertainingly trashy GILF waitress
comic book store
locavore restaurant
about a dozen salons and barbershops
guitar store
drum store
used record store
about five other taverns
and the place with 100,000 appliance parts.

It's a neighborhood where the alcoholic guy with no teeth who's pawing through your trash turns out to be cooler than you, and an artist with actually gallery shows 'n stuff. What's not to love about this place?

Come to think of it, it's probably nicer when the suburbanites go back home to Brookfield when they're done eating at Lulu's.
