I can't remember. Was he this upset with Bush on 9/11? Do we have any coverage of his outrage at Reagan for Beirut?

Also this: After a short pause he continued, "There's 4 dead Americans. The lives of other Americans were put in jeopardy. This is a matter of 4 dead Americans. I think that the other issue raised is very serious and I think it deserves a thorough and complete investigation. But it does not rise to the level of an attack on an American consulate that took four American lives."

YOU SUPPORTED A WAR AND CONTINUE TO SUPPORT A WAR WHICH HAS KILLED THOUSANDS OF AMERICANS FOR NO DISCERNIBLE PURPOSE, YOU PIECE OF CRAP.

/sorry for the yelling

Hanky: This attack on Ambassador Rice is outrageous. That old man needs to retire.

He can go fark himself. For the man who nominated Sarah Palin to be his Vice President to accuse someone else, much less who's done a great job, of incompetence? He deserves to be slapped in public.

In response to a question about whether classified documents found leaked in the Gen. Petraeus scandal posed a greater national security threat than the Benghazi attack, McCain quickly responded, "Well I say with great respect, that's one of the dumbest questions I've ever heard."

That's the question? Actually, it IS a pretty decent question. One that didn't really get answered properly.

John McCain was the guy who said going into Pakistan to Kill Osama bin Laden was a bad idea.

Take anything he says about national security with a grain of salt.

Uh, in the clip, he was responding to a dumb question that had nothing to do with Rice.

But lets hear it from the White House!

"Five days after the attack, she appeared on several news talk programs and said the attack stemmed from outrage in the Arab world over an anti-Muslim video, not an act of terrorism. The White House later corrected that claim."

Derp. Keep posting, boys.

Sure there is.

Picking Paul Ryan.

We're supposed to believe that a minor one-and-done embassy strike that killed a whole 4 people is a bigger national security issue than the former head of CENT-COM and current head of the CIA leaking shiatloads of classified documents because his dick wasn't gonna suck itself?

Republicans are OBSESSED with Benghazi. They somehow think that it is some smoking gun for Obama trying to cover-up Al Qaeda. They are trying to turn this into Obama's Waco (which itself was overblown BS).

Just ignore the fact that Obama has had less embassy attacks than any president in the last 50 years. Just ignore that fact that Republicans defunded embassy security. Just ignore the fact that 9/11 and Iraq only happened because Republicans and their appointed Agency Commanders were incompetent and arrogant.

Is this the thread where everyone pretends that McCain was a reasonable moderate back in the day and hasn't been a cranky old ultra-conservative asshole his entire farking career?

The Maverick is a media creation, a product of decades of sucking up to the Beltway press corps with BBQs, donuts and tire swings. McCain has always been a right-wing conservative who holds a grudge. His standing up to Bush was more about sticking it to the guy who beat him in the primaries in 2000 than any sense of principle or fairness. And he's doing the same thing now trying to stick it to the guy who beat him in the general in 2008.

Give the legend a rest, already.

stoli n coke: This latest tantrum is just a reminder that he never got over 2008. IMO, he still thinks he's running for president against Obama.

He also still thinks he's a prisoner in North Vietnam. And that we're his fellow prisoners!

Aldon: I can't even figure out what the "scandal" is regarding Bengazi.

That it took 7 hours to send a rescue team? Okay then, how long should it have taken. And what makes that a scandal?

That the administration should have told us more or wasn't completely accurate in what happened until about two weeks afterwards? Okay then, what did that change/affect?

Seriously, someone needs to explain what the scandal is. If everything the Republicans say is true, at worst the administration could have done better and been faster with information and reacting to the attack. Valid criticism, but no scandal.

/a scandal needs immoral or illegal activity.

Well you see, our president is a ni-*bong* so the Right wing half of this country is ECSTATIC that American's died. They want to pin these deaths on him so badly that they can't even see there is no scandal here (as you have noticed) They know Dubya dropped the ball on 9/11, they are coming to terms with the fact we never should have been in Iraq. The previous administration is responsible for so many civilian and military deaths that they can't even mention his administration anymore. In there twisted minds having Obama be responsible for some American deaths makes Bush look better, Unfortunately they are doing what they ALWAYS do, start with the conclusion and make reality/data fit their needs. We saw this with the recent election, ie Romney will win, so we must make the polls reflect that. We see that with creationism, ie God made it all, so lets make the science show that. We are seeing it with Bengazi, Obama is responsible for those deaths, now lets contrive evidence and a narrative that makes the black man a bad man.

there is no scandal, and there is nothing this Administration could have done, so the Right's tactic is to have first decided he's to pay and next to figure out how. You know, their standard operating procedure.

\My God I've become cynical =(

There isn't a scandal, this is an attempt to direct Republican rage. We were supposed to be enraged about the economy. We were supposed to be enraged about minorities. We were supposed to be enraged about the suppression of rapists' God-given parental rights. We weren't. Well, at least not in the way they had hoped. So now they keep this in the news, because the kind of people this bullshiat works on won't care about any facts or information (and have, in fact, made it virtually impossible for an unbiased investigation to take place).

He really has gone senile, hasn't he?

FTFA: He continued, "There's 4 dead Americans. There's 4 dead Americans. Not a socialite." The reporter attempted to interrupt but McCain quickly stopped him. "I'm answering your question. Ok, do you want me to answer your question or do you want to interrupt? Which do you want?" After a short pause he continued, "There's 4 dead Americans. The lives of other Americans were put in jeopardy. This is a matter of 4 dead Americans. I think that the other issue raised is very serious and I think it deserves a thorough and complete investigation. That's not trying for a soundbite, that's full-blown Alzheimer's.

The really funny thing is that if the Generals mistress gained access to truly dangerous classified documents somehow. For instance, if she was actually a spy playing the long game, she could very well have gotten her hands on documents that end up putting many, many more American lives in danger. That retarded old codger is so heart-set on making Bengazi a thing that he didn't even consider the question, or answer reasonably.

McCain, you're an asshole. I had a shred of respect for you before you ran for President, but then you unleashed Palin on the country. And now you're just being a prick. Yeah, it was a dumb question, but you're not impressing anyone by being a bombastic dickweed.

Swear on my grandmother's grave, I overheard this at the grocery store recently:

"What part of the cow does this bacon come from?"

I nearly gave myself whiplash trying to find out who said that.

I have no idea why he's doing this.

Because Rice is a leading candidate to replace Hilary. The Repubs are trying to dirty her up, Rovestyle.... they apparently are too dumb to understand that this crap has worn out, and is why they lost the Prez election and lost seats in both the Senate and the House.
