And Price and Dickey won the Cy awards. Good for them, and go wobbly pitch thrower!

37 years old today and he'll be 38 halfway into next year's season. His BA and OBP numbers have held up well so far but I'm not sure that you can bank on it much longer.

4 for 5 on MLBTradeRumors FA prediction contest so far.

Not bad.

Via ESPN: "Tigers right fielders hit .235 with 13 home runs, ranking last in the AL in OPS and runs scored at the position. On top of that, they ranked 29th in the majors in Defense Runs Saved at minus-17."

Torii Hunter hit .313 with the Angels in 2012 and has 9 gold gloves. Despite his age this is a MAJOR upgrade.

Good addition to the Tigers.

And I don't think he hates Jews like Dmitri did. Kudos.

I've always appreciated Torii being vocal on black issues in baseball (although I haven't always agreed with him), he's one of the more outspoken athletes in a generation devoid of them. And good on him not going into the tank after his last huge deal and continuing to work hard to earn this new contract.

But hey, the Angels have Vernon Wells as a ready made replacement, in one of the stupidest trades of the last 5 years.

Pirates and I'm gonna say Mets.

Delmon has zero value to a NL team. He's TERRIBLE in the field. He's best for a team that wants some reasonably priced pop at the DH spot.

Price received 14 of 28 first-place votes and finished with 153 points
Verlander was chosen on 13 ballots and finished with 149 points

I thought the Angels should have kept Torii for 2 more years.
They like Bourgois in center with Trout in left and Trombo in right
and save some cash for a starter or 2

Damn it.

Hunter has been a great player for the Angels and I'm really sad to see him go. Now the pressure is really on Mark Trumbo to be the player he was before the All-Star game and not the almost automatic out he was after.

Well I agree under normal circumstances Delmon has zero value, the Pirates are desperate for outfield offense and Delmon can provide a bit. He can also come on a one year cheap deal and if he sucks, who cares its one year and if he's good they can flip him at the deadline or use him to help challenge for a playoff spot (you can substitute Padres, Stros, Cubs or Indians in place of pirates as well)

Highest BABIP in the majors last season and another year on the odometer. An upgrade perhaps, but his production will likely not be what it was with the Angels. The more important development for the Tigers is probably getting rid of the Protocols of the Elders of Delmon.

Praise Alex Antholpoulos.
