Bradley Manning gave classified information to foreign nationals and is a traitor. Petreaus got some strange from a broad with toned arms. Not the same thing. Deal with it, liberals.

"I think you're going to have to talk to the FBI about what their protocols are," Obama responded. "One of the challenges here is that we're not supposed to meddle in criminal investigations. That's been our practice. People are innocent until proven guilty. We don't want to prejudge these situations."

WTF is this guy's problem? That's just absolutely outrageous somehow, I just KNOW it!

Neither reason nor irony are represented here, I am amused.

Titor's Time Machine: Obama on Red Delicious Apples, "These apples are red and delicious." Obama on Navel Oranges, "These oranges are orange and sweet."

Rapeublican response:

Even though Reality clearly shows those apples are red and delicious, Fox News has unskewed things so we see that these apples are actually blue and taste horrible. Also, Oranges are only for those people to pick, the ones who came out and voted when we didn't want them to. Plus, rape rape rape rape Jesus rape rape rape rape.

Clearly Obama hates oranges because he didn't say they were delicious. If we'd had this information before the election there's no way he wins Florida.

It is not about morality for people like him; it is about being put in compromising situations

Under the Uniform Code. Of course, he was retired from the military. If he was banging her while he was still in the military, then yeah there's an actual case. Of course, Obama has no authority there.

Well yeah, but what do you expect from the cider media? It isn't exactly a secret that they're biased against citrus.

Petreaus is still being investigated. He hasn't been charged with any crime I know of. Manning was not only arrested and charged years ago, he's due to for his court-martial in February. Both the Private and the General are carbon-based lifeforms involved at some point in the American armed forces, but that's pretty much all the similarity between them. You can't really expect the same response to two radically different situations.

In the military, yes. Actually, I think it's a crime in Virginia too, but not really enforced. People seem to say Petraeus got some foreign stanky on his hang-down after he retired from the military.

I wasn't aware that Patraeus was actually facing any charges.

Either that, or Reason is once again being dumb.

But what are the chances of THAT?

Think of all the innocent sperms that Petreaus murdered.

General Dumbass screwed up royally with Tits Slutswell, but this really isn't the same thing, and any argument to equate them is ruining it for people who are just trying to sit back and enjoy watching this whole ridiculous drama unfold while we await new episodes of Arrested Development. So thanks a lot for that.

Didn't they pretty much have Manning dead to rights on proving classified information to Wikileaks? What to they have Petreaus on besides sleeping with someone not his wife? I realize that has implications on someone that deals with classified information, but that's a world away from actually disclosing classified information.

You can if your system of law is based on presumption of innocence. And for all the hemming and hawing, Bradley Manning has yet to be proven guilty in any legal court, military or otherwise (And no, the court of public opinion is not a legal court). Treating one accusee like he's guilty and another like he's innocent is hypocrisy.

Um, but her job/former job was in military intelligence.

So just because she had "Classified info" does not mean she had "Classified info she wasn't supposed to have.". Her farking JOB was classified info.

/Not really defending Petreaus

And if they can link that classified information to Petreaus, then he's likewise screwed. Otherwise, he's still not another Manning.

Look, Manning is a criminal. He can't just force Papa John to give away a million extra pizzas. Papa agreed to give away ONE MILLION and that was it. When Manning upped it to two million, he broke the law. And he belongs in prison. Petraeus is a whole different story. Yes he made a mistake but the guy slew freaking Medusa. And let's not forget his role in the whole Golden Fleece affair. Bottom line, this is apples and oranges, and orange you glad I didn't say banana.

I agree, revealing the doings of our government is traitorous!

If the government lies and covers things up, it's for our own good.

Why can't people see that?
