cretinbob: tastes great

I've had bear, though I'm not sure what kind. The only place I know of that carries exotic game meat only has black bear.

it was "one of the most popular bills" the Senate had considered in the last session.

This is why we can't have nice things....other than polar bear carcasses.

If they're not going to wear helmets, don't give them medical care!

I know! it's the bi-polar bears we should be worried about.

I'd imagine most of the fiscal cliff wrangling is going to happen in the House, anyway. Any inter-chamber discussions are only going to involve leadership.

Where have these polar bear carcasses been kept since 2008, and how much is that costing?

It's to allow some rich people to bring their trophies home. Cost for hunting polar bear is about $35,000. It's also to allow hunters and fishermen to continue to use cheap but toxic lead shot and sinkers hunting over our ponds and marshes. Good to know what their priorities are.

Did Sarah Palin shoot them from a helicopter?

(rim shot)

But seriously folks, there's an easy way to close debate on illegal polar bear rugs.

Just add a short Amendment:

The United States Government acknowledges the reality and existence of climate change and the primary responsability of human actions through deforestation, farming, cement making and the burning of fossil fuels among other actions, for the scope and speed of climate change. We acknowledge that climate change is endangering irreplaceable environmental and economic assets, including polar bears and the lives and livelhoods of millions, and that polar bears are an endangered species which deserves protection as a species and protection of its habitat. We furthermore acknowledge that it is our responsability to ensure that climate change does not occur a catastrophic rates or levels and that it is the duty of the American people to fight climate change by changing their lifestyles and by holding the Governments of this country and the world accountable for their actions or non-action to prevent life-, property- and ecology-threatening climate change.

Et voilà!
(That's French, Tish!) It is done.

The bill is now deader than a polar bear shot with automatic weapons from a hovering helicopter with Sarah Palin's dad to act as gun bearer and loader, and a crack shot trained by the Pentagon or the CIA along to get in the kill shot just to make sure the gormless millionaire Rube who is paying to "hunt" and "kill" "his" polar bear is not deprived of his money's worth by being a complete idiot and a lousy shot to boot.

If you want to destroy our few thousands of polar bears and the rest of world for fun and profit, stay out of Canada. I'm sure PM Sweatervest will be happy to see you but the rest of us are rooting for a polar bear to leap twenty feet into the air and claw your fugly face off before it drags you down to the ground and eats you alive.
