Klayman, apparently dissatisfied with only seeming to be totally unhinged, now claims that conservatives "will soon become the 'new ni**ers,' relegated to the back of the bus" and that conservatives are "right to feel the same way today" African Americans once felt.

relegated to the back of the bus - as the bus speeds away to quickly fall over the fiscal, social and moral cliff.

Wouldn't you want to be in the back for that? You could climb out the emergency exit or something.

I don't know how republicans manage to survive on a day to day basis being such fragile snowflakes.

You'd expect getting caught in a light rain would melt them away.

When I was in school, the back of the bus was coveted.

Apparently, getting caught in a landslide just makes them more stupid

...if we do nothing and simply look to future elections to restore the nation, we will soon become the "new ni**ers," relegated to the back of the bus - as the bus speeds away to quickly fall over the fiscal, social and moral cliff. African-Americans were right when they said this years ago, and we're now right to feel the same way today.

"Oh, if only the stupid masses would listen to our good ideas! We'd get this country back on track!"

"Okay, lay out these 'good ideas' for us."

"THE DUMBOCRAPS ARE DOING IT ALL WRONG!"

"Uh, that's not an 'idea' per se."

"Tax cuts! More and more tax cuts!"

"Yeah, we've tried that lots of times. Doesn't work."

"WHY DO YOU HATE AMERICA?"

"Okay, then. See you later."

"WHY ARE ALL OF THESE STUPID PEOPLE NOT LISTENING TO US ANYMORE?"

For those not in the know, Ocala is best known as the "Horse Capital of the World." Klayman is clearly their collective ass.

I just might have to take a trip there the next time he convenes his hissy fit organization.

Cry me a river.

All though the 80's and a significant chunk of the 90's, the word "liberal" was used as a smear.

We coped and so can they.

Limbaugh and Hannity have been voicing similar thoughts along this line - that Republicans are under attack, that the GOP is being 'forced' to compromise or face destruction. the developing theme has been the GOP should entrench and hold their positions. backing down and/or compromising with the Democrats is not only a sin against god but it's a dirty librul trick designed to further weaken the Republican counter-offensive. the GOP rank and file are being told that THEY were right all along, that the LIBRULS are wrong, and that if they just HOLD ON a wee bit longer then things will get better.

i'm honestly not sure what to think about this development. the rank and file are slowly coming out of their post-election shock. I'm not sure you CAN make them sit tight and wait for orders. that would just make them start thinking about the reasons they lost...and that might lead to compromise.

Thank you, Mr. President.

Obama gave a semi-closed to the public conference call speech last night. it was a thank you to those of us who worked on the campaign. spent some time networking with local Democrats, dunno if anything will come of it. But I think a lot of people walked away from the campaign feeling pretty confident that at the national level, the democrats are on the right track.

locally, however...yeesh. between redistricting and die hard GOP rank and file types it's going to be extremely difficult to make any inroads to the state legislature in my area. I have a few thoughts on the matter but...it's too early to mention it in public.

I can't believe this is the same libertarian whackjob I regularly used to e-yell at just a few years ago. Its like someone took over your account.

Anyway I know full well that the GOP left you rather than the other way around. Obama is pretty much the best republican president we've had in my lifetime.

how can anyone possibly have a frank and honest discussion about budgetary matters when 1/3 of the GOP literally believes that the President of the United States is working for the anti-Christ...? how can you possibly reach a workable compromise on ANY issue when there's a good chance that someone on your committee literally believes that you are an agent of a vast supernatural evil that's trying to bring about the End of Days?

Or, ya know...I could go vote Democrat. not the best party in the history of ever...but at least they don't have religious nutballs running the show.

"Alright, who vacuumed the cat?"

"The democrats."

"Now Toby. I don't see any democrats here."

"They... they vacuumed the cat, but they ran away when they heard you coming."

"What did I tell you about taking responsibility for your mistakes? Remember last week when you were building the deck, and you poured the excess cement down the kitchen sink and blamed it on welfare queens? There weren't really any welfare queens here, were there?"

"YOU'RE JUST PERSECUTING ME BECAUSE I'M A CHRISTIAN!!!"

...etc etc etc

You only need what now, 15 members of the house to compromise to pass legislation? Shouldn't be that hard to find 15 sane Republican's out of the 233 there The House Republican leadership should ignore the 1/3 that are crazy religious types, and move forward with compromise legislation with support from a portion of the other 2/3rds.

Well, "conservative" isn't a matter of race, religion or national origin so I think we could actually make them ride in the backs of busses. We could make them use their own water fountains and everything.

But what?

Don't make "conservative" a dirty word, make "Republican" a dirty word.

It pays back more during election time.

I actually get along with Conservatives, they're level headed folks with good ideas and open to thoughtful discussion on the topics they are passionate about.

It's the Right Wing Fundie Farktards that identify themselves as Conservatives that I have a problem with. I won't be surprised to see the schism within the Republicans spawn a completely separate subgroup that no longer identifies themselves as Republicans. At this time, there aer subgroups, yes, but they fall under the Republican umbrella, soon, I'd expect them to say they didn't leave their party, their party left them and becoming more disenfranchised to the whole affair.

We're already seeing the leaders of the Republicans coming back to center while their constituents are left drifting in the wind. A meager 3 years ago Rick Perry was using secession as a means to endear himself to the people of Texas, now he's distancing himself from it, What about the constituents that were agreeing with his secession talk 3 years ago? I don't think they've up and changed their minds.

All of my life, my father was a garden-variety conservative. He wasn't crazed, particularly rambunctious, or unhinged.

Then FOX took over. Then he became a Hannity acolyte, cancelling subscriptions to periodicals and newspapers he had been reading for 20 years. My once reasonable father turned into a mouth-breather almost overnight.

Every day, FOX creates more of these people...folks who were just regular Christians and Republicans now having apoplectic b*tch fits whenever a candidate doesn't openly give Jesus a reach-around.

My point is that I agree with you - it's not conservatives I fear. It's people like my father who can't be reasoned with unless a preacher or pundit it telling him what to think.
