I really thought that Obama would have done this in his first term. Only a Democrat could get away with removing the last piece of JFK's legacy.

But Obama did do a good job at hacking away at NASA. So there is that.

The Stealth Hippopotamus: I really thought that Obama would have done this in his first term. Only a Democrat could get away with removing the last piece of JFK's legacy.

He was planning on running for re-election and didn't want to do anything that might give Florida over to the Republicans. Besides, normalizing diplomatic and trade relations with Cuba, although long overdue, isn't that high on our priority list.

Obama will probably won't do it until after the 2016 election when he's on his way out and can't hurt the Democratic presidential nominee that year.

Now what does that have to do with Cuba?

I'd like to see this happen. Fark the Florida Cubans. It's not like they'll go back when the Castros die anyway.

There's a lot of business opportunities in Cuba if we can get a relationship with them similar to the ones we have with China or Vietnam. We can have stuff built there at a similar labor rate as China, but with cheaper shipping. I think people in the US would also vacation on Cuba's coasts like they did during the Batista regime. The old cars, buildings, and unique throwback culture could be spun to appeal to tourists. Not to mention that Cuban cigars are considered a luxury item in the US.

I see no reason for the embargo, Cuba's never done anything to me.

NO leave it in place. It's bad enough that there are Canadians ruining the hotels, with their super sized tankards and overly loud ways!

/Can't you greedy farkers just use the glasses the hotels give you? Do you really need 1/2 a gallon of beer at a time?
