basemetal: As long as they don't come to my neighborhood.

Agreed.

That would be a very bad thing (for us):

I had a fantastically long, detailed dream last week that a pictographic message appeared in the sky suddenly one night; the first undeniable proof of extraterrestrial life. There were pictograms depicting familiar objects, but also what looked like data encoded into the message - no one knew what it meant. Then the next day, earth was inexplicably rocked by earthquakes and tidal waves, killing many. Soon after, I started getting hints from well-connected friends that the government knew more about the message than it was letting on.

Eventually the truth was revealed: The message was a warning about a rogue planet passing through the solar system, but we'd seen it too late. The planet had missed earth, but had slingshoted us out of orbit towards the sun. Society ground to a halt as the sun grew bigger an bigger in the sky each day, until one morning, we all went outside to watch the last of the ocean boil away, then promptly burned to death.

I agree. Melancholia was, indeed, a very bad thing.

Did anyone tell Fox about this? This happened on Obama's watch! We have to avoid him getting reelected again!

Did it come with its own theme song?

I had a dream so lucid once that it seemed more like an ancestral dream. We lived in one story white houses and dressed in white toga looking deals. I still see every detail of the house. My family and I went outside, and when I looked around I saw other people standing around looking at the sky. When I looked up I saw a very large sun with another planet in behind it. Then large chunks of rock started raining down from the sky. One came towards me and I woke up. Most interesting part is that it was like we were expecting this to happen. Almost calm. I was also elementary school age from my point of view.
