I listened to that on the news and she said...." "I have inviolability. They should not be on my property. I don't know if you want to get diplomatic, uh, protection involved as well. It's against the law to cross my property. It's inviolable."

Anyone here want to take a bet with me that the 911 operator was all like "WTF is inviolability?!?!" and "Just who the HELL is this Biatch"??!?!?

Wouldn't she, as the property owner, be fully within her rights to tell the media to get off her lawn, and to call the police to enforce that?

The diplomatic part is absurd, of course, but that'll sort itself out.

During an interview today on CNN, a retired general mentioned generals have to deal with "camp followers," describing these wome tied up in this scandal as such.

According to Wikipedia, camp followers are "civilians and their children who follow armies. There are two common types of camp followers; first, the wives and children of soldiers, who follow their spouse or parent's army from place to place; the second type of camp followers have historically been informal army service providers, servicing soldiers needs whilst encamped, in particular selling goods or services that the military does not supply, these have included cooking, laundering, liquor, nursing, sexual services and sutlery."

I say these women are the latter type, but I'm not sure what "services" they're both offering.

/Just kidding, yes, I do.

I work for the State Department and have had Diplomatic Immunity before so I am getting you know...something out of these replies.

Diplomatic Immunity grants rights and protections under the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 in a country where you are credentialed by that country. It does not apply in the US for anyone. To get immunity you would need to be a Diplomat for another country that the State Department has accepted in the US as representing another country.

FYI...even if I were to do stupid crap in a country I am stationed in...it doesn't make me immune from prosecution. My own government can waive my immunity.

Lady sounds as kooky as someone trying to spend a two dollar bill at Taco Bell. There is a whole lot of crazy in these stories...and sounds like some guys are playing with fire by inserting their penii.

(The Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 is an international treaty that defines a framework for diplomatic relations between independent countries. It specifies the privileges of a diplomatic mission that enable diplomats to perform their function without fear of coercion or harassment by the host country. This forms the legal basis for diplomatic immunity. Its articles are considered a cornerstone of modern international relations. )

If they were actually on the property I'd get a trespass served against them.

If they were sitting on the sidewalk, I'd try to get a "No loitering" statute implemented via the town/city for my area of town.

For short term, I'd i) setup a high-powered lawn sprinkler system that conveniently was aimed and extended over the sidewalk, ii) have manure delivered and setup in open-top bins on my property immediately adjacent to the sidewalk, and iii) install radio jammers near the property line for GSM/CDMA and other popular frequencies required to operative television equipment.

FTFA: She knew how to get tickets to the theater, to sports events; she arranged welcoming parties and introduced new commanders to South Tampa society. "When you realize the honor of that," Fodiman said, "you don't turn it down."

I expect officers were fighting for a posting there, and the honour of meeting South Tampa society. Which is so, so, much more desirable than meeting the rest of Tampa society.

Easy just start the landscaping and sidewalk repair project that you have been putting off, the noise of the concrete mixer and the jack hammers will keep the media away.

The conspiracy is obvious.

None of the government workers, from FBI, State, and DOD were shirtless.

Apparently only shirtless FBI workers, and bare chested government and military functionaries bow to this immune and internationally diplomatic Korean consul special person.

Was Eric Cantor wearing a shirt when he called the head of the FBI? The longer this story linger, the more unlikely.

I don't know, looking up the loitering law for Florida it doesn't seem to apply, you have to be in a place you shouldn't be doing something you shouldn't, and the sidewalk is a perfectly reasonable place for people to be.

FYL: But the State Department and the Defense Department stress that Kelly has no official job with the U.S. government. She was strictly a volunteer.

"What the volunteers do typically is host some of the international visitors for dinner, or they'll speak to them and provide information about the local community," she said.

But such a "citizen diplomat" designation carries no legal or diplomatic privileges, even if Kelley tried to give that impression.

She threw dinner parties for visiting South Korean diplomats.

Anyone who knows Military service knows that once you get higher up in the ranks, many use 'wife swapping' as a means of socialization and advancement in their careers. Many of these military wives are

I think it's time to reconsider allowing heterosexuals to serve in the military. (thanks Jon Stewart!)

I also think it's time to stop handing out 'honorary ambassadorships' to military base whores.

The story is that she's a Kardashian-style ho-bag... that she's a "socialite" who throws parties for the Army folks.

Or to note an alternative way of looking at this... she is a person of middle-eastern descent who has had passes to get into CENTCOM and multiple excuses to do so, so her comings and goings wouldn't look suspicious.

She (and her sister) are personally involved (in undefined ways) both with the head of the CIA and with the commander of US forces in Afghanistan. (Her sister who looks enough like her that either could plausibly pass as the other under casual scrutiny)

She has run a "Cancer Charity" that apparently raised no money, but had money to use and used that money for travel arrangements for Cancer Patients, meaning she could make effectively traceless travel arrangements anywhere in the world without attracting attention.

So maybe she is a Kardashian-style socialite who likes faux status -- That is the story.

But she sure looks Spooky to me. I think her cloaks and daggers have cloaks and daggers and all the crap is an attempt to keep cover.

Defense Intelligence Agency maintains a major office attached to Central Command.
