He filmed a movie here in New Orleans that used my friend's house as part of the set. My buddy's kid spent all week practicing saying, "Whaddup, Fiddy?" in anticipation of meeting him (he was three). Afterward he proudly showed me a picture of him posing all bad-ass with 50 in their living room. He was so proud.

Apparently for a guy who's been shot 80 times or whatever, he's a really good, down to earth guy. He's evidently also a total whore who will endorse anything, but he's generally a very pleasant human being. I guess being rich as fark doesn't hurt one's disposition.

While I'm wary of your story (this is the internet, please don't take offence, stranger), I've heard that as well.
And you can see it, he just smiles a lot, enjoying life. Seems like a good dude in interviews, etc.

Maybe you aren't aware of Monoprice's general model. They sell really good stuff at very low prices to people who are smart enough to understand that brand names no longer mean anything when you can have the same product un-custom-labelled. Fiddy has private-label headphones - and he jacks the price. Monoprice has private-label headphones - and they sell them at a discount.

Likewise, read the reviews, or even try them for yourself. They've been very thoroughly reviewed, and compare well to much more expensive gear.

"The Monoprice 8323 Premium Hi-Fi DJ Style Over-the-Ear Pro Headphones are, hands-down, the best full-size, over-the-ear headphones you can buy on the cheap."

"This is a seriously good headphone ... and not seriously good for $20, these sounded good for a $80 headphone ... or at least that's what my head was telling me as I listened in the booth."

Dig even deeper, like at head-fi, and you'll find plenty of people willing to vouch for these cans.

So I save $200 and only lose 1% of the quality?

Cool. Sign me up.

There are headphones and earbuds worth $250...

these are not them. These and those BEATS headphones are just priced for the stupid sheep out there.

I always get a kick out of selling people a $300 pair of beats headphones at my store when right in my pocket is a pair of $80 earbuds that sounds twice as good as them.

And you know what brings out the sound the best in those $150+ headphones? Some Monster HDMI cables or Wattgate 381 Audio Grade power outlets. As a fake audiophile, I pretend that these products actually make a difference in the quality of sound.

Celebrity headphones are the epitome of "no one ever went broke underestimating the public."

Thing is, for $250, you can get a supreme, non-rapper-endorsed pair of Grados or Sennheisers that blow the endorsed 'phones out of the water. They all have the same sound signature - artificially enhanced bass, no mids, and no treble extension. But Dre's "Beats" 'phones are now considered a fashion statement. BTW, that particular range is brought to you by Monster, the kings of the $75 HDMI cable.

Yes. I am something of an audiophile, which ranks me just above child rapist in Fark's estimation. :)

Look Duuude, I get that a lot of people out there aren't able to pick up the subtle premium sounds enabled by using Monster audio cabling. But calling Wattgate outlets fake? Your either trolling or have seriously zero ear capabilities.

Ever since hooking up to my Wattgate outlets I've been able to distinctly hear the shoelaces hitting the cleats of NFL players running across my screen. It's unreal the noises that are now apparent in Discovery nature programming.

It didn't take long before I realized the benefits of a total house Wattgate outlet solution.

Spend $100 on Grados, you are going to hear very good quality. Then you can decide whether you want to spend any more or any less on a pair of headphones ever again.

"they were designed from scratch". Sure lady, make up facts like all the other QVC hosts do to pawn their crap. I guarantee there's 5 other headphones that looks EXACTLY like these with a different logo sitting on a china warehouse somewhere.

"Oh! you wanna them say feefty cent? no problem joe, I go make another mold, have them to you in 6 weeks"

Guess those would be nice, in the winter only, and you had money to burn... otherwise, I'll stick with my earbuds. Bought (and returned) about 10+ pair before I found and stuck with some $30 Maxell Peanuts earbuds. I was shocked that they could reproduce bass in rock music. No "tin" sounds to them and sounded significantly better than some $40 to $60 pairs I tried.

/actually went back and bought 2 more pair since I usually wind up destroying a pair while mowing at least once a year.
//oddly enough, the 1st pair held up all last year - look bad, but still work prefectly
