You know, I've admired Sesame Street in the past for pulling no punches and not assuming that children were small mentally-impaired people right from the get go. This is just kinda shameful to me.

Storms come, you can't stop them. You can however meet them with some degree of composure (rather than panic) brought on by some sense of pride that you knew how to, and did, prepare yourself for it.

Why do kids need to be shielded from this information again? Ah yes, because they're too stupid to realize it's a show, and far too stupid to simply ask their parents for clarity about what's going on in the real world.

Cause that's kids, right? They don't grow a brain until they're at least ten or so and therefore you shouldn't tax grey matter that isn't there. Come on Sesame Street, apparently you were better than this even ten years ago. Stop slacking.

was this flood damage or wind/rain damage? if flood he better have flood insurance. other wise standard nest owner insurance will cover it.

It's just Obamaganda to brain-wash small children into believing that they are dependent and need the Government to rob old white people to give them free food, shelter and cable TV.

They should be working down a mine if they're old enough to recognize letters and numbers.

Bootstrapy four year olds would rebuild their own nests without handouts, freebies, entitlements etc., just like Granny Gottalot. Where's the PBS shows showing millionaires being bootstrapy by moving to their ski chalets in Aspen while their coastal mansions are repaired?

And why are there no rich old white conservatives on Sesame Street? That New York City low-rise neighborhood seems to be occupied by 47%ers--not a smug old martini-sipping white face in the crowd pitching in to rebuild Big Bird's nest.

Humans don't build houses for birds. Fark the birds. They should be paying higher taxes to help millionaires replace their yachts lost in the storm.

If they had aired this starting a few days before the storm, then I would be more concerned that they keep the preparation scenes in. So this isn't exactly the equivalent of editing the Death of Mr Hooper saga before it aired because they were afraid kids would be overwhelmed.

His nest got destroyed by a hurricane in 2001 as well. Those episodes were designed to help kids deal with the rebuilding efforts after 9/11. Big Bird's nest will be rebuilt!

I Should Get Off My Own Lawn Dept:

First season of "Misterogers Neighborhood" had an arc where the factory of Cornflake S. Pecially burned down (omplete with smoke, and I think flames), and the Neighborhood of Make Believe helped rebuild it. They had the charred ruins of the factory for quite a few days, no "built by the end of the episode" quickie.
