Will Sean Penn be the next Matt Damon?

Seaaaaaaaan. Pennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

No, it doesn't have quite the same ring, I'm sorry.

The years have not been kind to Sean Penn.

You know what movie I really like. In Bruges. Good stuff. The American isn't bad either, if you have the attention span.

/just going off what HBO's been playing lately.

"Prone Gunman"? So it's a comedy?

Silver Pictures' Joel Silver

Close enough.

If you liked In Bruges, check out Seven Psychopaths while it's still in theaters. Good stuff.

This sounds like an A+ idea. I think you should pull a team together, and get a little face time with some execs. President Barack (US) would probably be behind it as well. Just don't go all Hannibal on the project or some people might get howling mad.

Nope, not working for me either.

Whoever greenlit that title should be shot.

You know, I don't care what any of you say or think.

I would. So very, very much. And there would be no disappointment, either. One way or another, I'm making sure she has a good time.

This movie is totally not the same thing, he remembers everything he did.

Will the commanders be rogue IRA agents trying to get a mystery case from the Russian mob?

That's right, it sounds like an Impossible Mission.....

Maybe it will be a remake of the Walter Matthau Gelnda Jackson Hopscotch movie.

Am I the only person that loved Haywire? It has everything - a chick beating up Michael Fassbender, Matheiu Kassovitz with a beard, Channing Tatum not living, and a car chase that ends by hitting a deer. Awesome popcorn movie.

Sean Penn? I thought it was about a male spy?

2012-11-14 09:10:24 AM
What I know, is that if Sean Bean is involved, it certainly won't be a trilogy.

While the Bourne series is an appropriate comparison, I think the Mission Impossible movies are worse offender of this trope. Has there been a single Cruise MI movie where Ethan Hunt didn't go rogue?

I kinda loved it, too.

It was pretty fun. Gina Carano's acting wasn't spectacular, but considering it was her first movie I'd say she shows plenty of potential. Certainly enough to carry some action movies.

Worst. Movie. Ever.

Technically, the film won't be a ripoff of the Bourne movies.

It'll be derived from a book that's a ripoff of the Bourne books. Well, not precisely a ripoff per se, but it was published in English in 2002 almost entirely due to similarities with the Bourne series. I'm not 100% on which original novel came out first. I guess you could be nice and call it a noir version of the story.

//Ludlum likely wasn't the first to use the story either, but his variation on the "betrayed by his organization/wants out" with the Amnesia was by far the most memorable version of it.
