Szabo, an aspiring organic farmer who moved to Goffstown from Pennsylvania in 2011 as part of the Free State Project, ran as a Republican for county sheriff, losing in the Sept. 11 primary to incumbent Sheriff Jim Hardy. Hardy won a sixth term last week.

So he was a carpetbagger.

Gay marriage is legal in Argentina. And they said fark you to Spain and nationalized their oil.

They have kickass beef, and along Chile and Uruguay they are the most 'European' of the Latin American countries.

They changed it after that celluloid abortion from 2007 stole their motto for a crappy 4thquel.

Interesting! My next door neighbor is the son of a Ukranian who rapidly emigrated to Argentina just days before the end of WW2. He has some museum quality art in his house. I knows me more than one blue-eyed Argentinian.

Why he's in for a rude surprise. Guess what, conservative morons? Making abortion illegal doesn't decrease abortion rates. Easy access to contraception does. So choose which one you'd rather have. If you choose the former, you're not really pro life.

If more conservatives followed his example, America might actually become a better place to live.

propasaurus: HMS_Blinkin: cameroncrazy1984: He'll be right at home there. They are nutso.

Damn. I was almost hoping that Chile would have super-liberal policies on abortion, so that this guy could be stupid like that girl in Georgia who thought that Australia had a male president who followed biblical values rather than a female PM who lives in sin with a man who is not her husband.

Oh, but you know what Chile does have? Privatized social security. Or rather they did until it went belly up and the country had to sell off everything that wasn't nailed down. Funny thing, it's practically the identical social security privatization plan that Paul Ryan wants to implement here. That's right, Ryan's plan is inspired by the Pinochet regime.

You can probably thank Milton Friedman for that.

Miracle of Chile

Though I'm pretty sure even he would think modern conservatives are insane.

"After having lost The Primary, it became a certainty. In my opinion, there was nothing else I could do which could make a real difference."

God, I'd love 5 minutes with this guy, just to ask a single question and give him time to truly unwind on the answer....

---How does leaving not just the county that you were so insistent on protecting, but the state, nation and even continent you were running in leave you in ANY kind of a position to "make a real difference"?

I'd make sure to record the audio for prosperity, because I have the feeling that the reply would be priceless...

I knew people who skipped the country for Belize when Clinton got elected, others who bought land there, "for when the persecution comes," They were all big on how they'd be there set up in Belize so that the rest of us could flee when Clinton started persecuting conservative Christians or something. They tried to talk the rest of us into moving there too.

Ya know, there's a certain amount of logic to what he's saying. He woulda left sooner except for his political office run. And, now that he's lost, he can't think of anything that would improve the U.S. better than for him to leave the country. I have to agree with him. If only the rest of the right-wing would "self-deport" themselves from the U.S. - America would dramatically improve without these nitwits! Heaven help any country taking them in, however.

seems like the most unapologetically ridiculous teabaggers here in Alaska are the ones that have lived here less than a decade. gets a bit tiresome listening to them.

best part is most of them have like 5+ kids and all home-school (which is subsidized by the state).

remember. we have the PFD here. 5+ kids + 2 parents x $1000-2000 (or one time Palin made it $3500.) each. they really need to make it at least like a 5 year residency requirement.

don't recall hearing about a single one them refusing it.

I hope not! That's my retirement spot. Absolutely gorgeous with friendly people, friendlier than Spain even.

The Southern Cone countries are truly astounding. Like a 1950's California, wide open spaces and perfect weather. The seafood in Chile is also good in addition to the beef and wine. Uruguay has a former Swiss colony right in the middle so lots of wine and cheese.

Piriapolis, someday.

I will never tell someone 'US love it or leave it' as it's just thrown around for everything it seems. I disagree with you so get out of my country is a bad thing at all levels. BUT if you decide to leave the US because you don't like some policy then I won't shed a tear for you nor will welcome you back with open arms.
