Bashar and Asma's Infinite Playlist: Is it pronounced with the 'g' in gin or the 'g' in gun?

The gun way annoys the hell out of me. I hope it's not correct.

Graphics Interchange Format

the "g" in graphics is a hard "g" therefore, it's "g" as in "gun"

J, like the peanut butter. At least that's what Compuserve peeps used to say about it.

I don't know why.

If you ask me, it ought to be pronounced like "graphics." Since, you know, that's what it stands for.

Feral_and_Preposterous: Would any of you pronounciation experts care to inform me how to pronounce "cache"?

Its "cash", one syllable.

And .GIF sounds like GRIFF without the R. Its astounding that there are learned people think "graphics" would be pronounced with a soft G. "Giraffics"?

Anyone requesting a "JIF" better not complain when they get peanut butter slathered across their upper lip.

"Interestingly, the word-of the-year distinction does not guarantee that the chosen words will actually be included in future editions of the Oxford English Dictionary."

Making this just one more meaningless publicity stunt.

Now if the computer world would just come up with a 1-click button solution to create a gif of variable sizes/quality out of any movie clip.
