George R R Martin's site is updated frequently and yet still has a webring.

And his blog is hosted on livejournal.

LtDarkstar: Kinda reminds me of this:

http://www.a1petsupply.com

A business owner I know that uses this site as her active E-Commerce site. Unfortunately she has it setup wrong and put the entire site in the secure area (instead of just the shopping cart/checkout area)... it's a 1990's mess that I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot cattle prod.

I think that you have found some prior art for Windows 8

2CountyFairs: loveblondieo: nekom: I don't know, 2000 McCain would have done a damn sight better than Bush. Not a big fan of 2008 McCain though.

That's true. I guess my memory of 2000 McCain was overshadowed by 2008 McCain.

My memory of 2008 McCain is overshadowed destroyed by 2008 Palin.

Imagine how well he may have done if he'd never spoke to Palin in the first place.

There's a lot of small businesses that created a site during the "must have a website now" craze of the 90s...and have just left them more or less the same.

Here's some miniature donkeys.

That is amazing....Country Music Miniature Donkeys...

Maybe we can send the Mystery Gang to go in and find out who's keeping it running.

Where is this abandoned theme park? I am always interested in them.

Have you checked the recesses of your nightmares yet?

Seriously, I have had recurring dreams about abandoned theme parks for most of my life. So it's not just me?

If this part of the Dole/Kemp presidential campaign came back from the dead, what are the chances that Jack Kemp will, too?

Also, looking at the other archived campaign websites by 4president.org... ew, Alan Keyes used Comic Sans on a campaign website?

That's as fast as we could reliably dial in my area - important in the BBS days when the single line ones were busy and you needed to take your turn in Global War or Tradewars at 12:01a.

/am I really that old?

Oh wow... I sysoped a MBBS/WGBBS 20 line back in the day.... good L.O.R.D and TradeWars.... awesome memories.

BunkoSquad: "When users first visit the site, they are given the option of setting up a custom Dole Web page. Each custom page contains a personal tool bar that welcomes the user by name, alerts them to an electronic "In Box" containing any new press releases or other campaign materials posted since their last visit, directs them to briefing papers on issues in which they expressed interest, and offers a home-state icon for local information about the Clinton record and the Dole agenda in that state."
