I don't know what makes me happier; the fact that McCain / Palin got left in the dustbin of history or the fact that Romney / Ryan are now on top of that same pile.

But seriously, in reference to the stupid article...

Presumably, they aren't celebrating the increasing tax burdens awaiting the lucky few of them - mainly those who have studied hard and long and spent a great deal on both the direct and indirect (from delayed entry into the work force) costs of advanced education - who will finally attain lucrative jobs.

"Oh no! I've studied hard to be a doctor and now I'm making a lot of money - AND NOW I'M BEING TAXED 4% MORE THAN BEFORE ON THE MONEY EXCEEDING $250,000 PER YEAR! WHY DIDN'T I VOTE FOR ROMNEY?!"

Private insurance companies, squeezed dry by the limits Obamacare places on their profit margins, will disappear, even though most doctors accept private insurance and it is proven to result in superior medical outcomes.

Yes, Aetna is just going to close their business, because if they only make 20% profits, then is it really worth it anymore? I think not.

Even young, healthy people will be forced to buy expensive health coverage, because Obamacare requires expansive coverage of high-cost care.

Not true. People under the age of 26 can now stay under their parent's health insurance plan. Obamacare brought that into being.

And if the young, healthy people are not making a certain amount of money, then they don't have to purchase health insurance. But some decently priced health insurance plans will be available to them if they want it.

So yeah, once again...fark off, NRO.

Someone at NRO doesn't know how insurance works, I'm assuming.

Steps in a sale:

Step 1) Convince someone that they have a problem (Like unemployment)
Step 2) Convince that person that you have the solution to their problem (Like Tax Cuts for millionaires)
Step 3) Profit?

With Obamacare, one of the greatest intergenerational financial transfers in history

No, that would be Social Security and Medicare.

I can see why so many of them would vote for Obama. Given the way he has tanked the economy, they have little or no chance of getting a job. Why not vote for the welfare president. At least they'll have some income.

So my sister, who is still a huge Sarah Palin fan, just posted to Facebook that her insurance premiums are going down. She doesn't know why (imagine that), but she's happy about it. I don't even have the heart to tell her that it's because of the 80/20 rule in Obamacare.

Conservatives wailed about Obamacare and a "government takeover of healthcare" but during the whole debate and the campaign, we never heard a peep out of the insurance providers. Did this escape the attention of said conservatives?

Oh, wait...one correction to my statement -- United Healthcare said they'd go ahead with the provisions in Obamacare even if SCOTUS ruled it unconstitutional. [Source]

Indeed.

We've worked hard and my family is now creeping up to the magic $250K number, but I doubt that I'm going to be experiencing any buyers remorse over voting for Obama.

It turns out that you can make money without automatically siding with selfish assholes.

Man, it was awesome when Obama tanked the economy all on his own before he was president. It totally speaks the the evil that he is--he pulled this off BEFORE he was president.

Tell her that congress forced the insurance companies to do it over the objections of the minority party.

The idiocy of this article is staggering--young people knew exactly what they were doing. They can see the economy improving. They know they don't want to side with bigots on social issues. OF COURSE they see healthcare as a right--and something we should be paying for--and OF COURSE they see every country that has socialized medicine and is able to keep costs down.

But if you keep messing with gays, women, and immigrants--I'm not sure you'll have much a future here, Republicans.

I was hoping for a Romney landslide and the Repubs to get huge majorities in the house and senate.

Why?

Because I'm a far left anarchist, and their policies would crash the capitalist system completely.

I am pretty sure centrists (and the capitalist class, even as they continue to pump out this kind of BS agitprop) will continue to be happy with the Obama victory.

In my mind, I see a vast, empty plane, whose only visible feature is a high wall, coated with Teflon.
An ape stands before the wall, angrily flinging his poop at it. The poop hits the wall, and slides off and falls to the ground. He picks it up again in a frustrated rage, and hurls it again. Again, it slips to earth. He does it again. and again. And again. Why won't that damn poop stick?!?!
I don't know if it's sad, or funny.

Funny, mine are up going to 80/20 this year because the scumbag healthcare company is using Obamacare as an excuse to raise premiums. Her coverage must have really been shiat before.

Oh noes, we elected a president who calls for a balanced approach to the debt which includes putting Clintonian-level taxes on extremely high incomes. The horror! The socialism! 'Murica is finished!

Obviously, we shoulda voted for the "I'll close some tax loopholes somewhere, ya just gotta believe me!" guy, he was trustworthy and had a nice smirk and, like a chameleon, his color shifted based on his audience. WHAT HAVE WE DONE

Here we see a smattering of butthurt conservatives who have finally moved to the anger stage of grief, as per the Kübler-Ross model, although others postings today have provided more than sufficient evidence that a significant number are still in the denial stage. Hopefully, by the time of the debt ceiling talks, more of them will have moved on to bargaining.

That's true, but if young adults aren't on their parents policy then I believe they are required to buy health insurance or pay the tax, unless they fall into one of the exempt categories.
