Shame he won't do a few years of hard time as well. He'll probably get 2 months.

You gotta go, Junior. We don't keep our crooks in office, nor do we try to explain away their actions. Step down and face the music.

/also, look at who just returned from his election night exile. What a surprise.

Get his ass out of their, and if you voted for him, do us all a favor and hit your head on your desk as hard as possible.

Also had Dan Webb (in the background) as his defense lawyer.
How did that work out?

He was farking re-elected by the dumbo-crats! This man has been on medical leave since June and he was farking re-elected. If that were not enough, he is being investigated by the FBI for mis-using campaign funds AND is accused of lobbying for Obama's vacated seat.

HE WAS VOTED BACK IN!!

Though it should come as no surprise I guess since America voted Obama back in as well.

who was exiled? Missed that.

There weren't that many surprises for me on election night.
I said 0bama would win since it was clear Romney was the nominee.
I said the GOP would easily win the House which they did.
I said the GOP would do fine with the governerships, which they did.
The only question for me was the Senate, which the GOP did poorly, but with Aiken, that wasn't a surprise and it was deserved.

I can't believe his voters elected him again.

I knew liberals were farked in the head but this is just insane.

how about Rangel? Is he still in office? Oh wait, he is.

Jackson, Jr., the son of civil rights activist Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr., and husband to Chicago Alderman Sandi Jackson, has not yet pleaded guilty to alleged misuse of campaign funds to decorate his house and purchase a $40,000 Rolex watch for a female friend.

But the whole trying to buy the Senate seat thing, we're still cool on that, right?

Ehh

OK, so he's lived his life in his father's shadow, he's crazy, and he will soon be a convicted criminal, but he does have the Dali Lama's blessing, so he's got that going for him.

Better a replacement election than voting in a Republican for two years? It shouldn't have happened, but if that is your choice?

I want to see pics of that Rolex recipient.

Re-elected.

I am embarrassed for the voters in his district. And I used to have Cynthia McKinney as my Rep.

Nobody said stupidity was the exclusive realm of Republicans.

Good riddance to this guy. Of course it could be better, he could be going away for a VERY long time.

As a liberal Chicagoan, I have to say one party rule isn't doing this city any favors. Glad this joker's finally being taken out.

Chicago style politics as usual. I amazes that liberals find this acceptable because it is our side that does it.

What does it say for the pathetic state of the modern GOP that couldn't feild a candidate more acceptable to this district than one who had been absentee from congress, had a self-admitted mental illness AND was under criminal investigation? Jeez your party must really suck at picking candidates

That's correct. Granted, the only reason we have the problem is the stupid electorate. They evidently WANT hereditary rulers.

I used to say that living in Chicago under Daley JR was like living in a mostly benevolent dictatorship. Sure you knew city hall was corrupt, and sure he might randomly do things that infuriated everyone with no recourse (see Meigs Feild) but the El Trains and city busses ran on time and the snow got cleared with a quickness whenever it fell, and the Waterfront park system was stunning. One of the reasons I've always been such an ardent Obama supporter is because he managed to rise in IL -politics without being captured by EITHER Chicago machine, Daley's or the Wilson brothers'. No mean feat. (and I know this because My Crim law prof was a very Early supporter of Obama's run for Senate, and my law clinic partner was a former member of the Chicago Outfit (mob) who'd managed to leave that organzation on good terms. SO early on in Prof
's upport, my partner decided to "Check Obama out" to see who's pocket this too-good-to-be-true candidate was in. He reported back to me that it was a source of some not small frustration among the chicago Underworld that it appeared that nobody had thier hooks in him and nobody had a marker they could call in with him-an absolutely unprecedented situation in his experience)

I actually sort of agree with you. I think if they had any balls at all Ron Paul would have been the prez candidate.

Jackson winning is just a perfect example of Democrat voters being partisan to the point of complete absurdly and cutting off their nose to spite their face.

Yup, I said it, and also voted for Obama. Or does that only count as me being half-racist cuz Obama is half-white? At any rate, the Jackson, Daley and Stroger families have ripped off TENS OF MILLIONS from Chicago residents and I'd be happy to see them all doing time and permanently banned from political office.

Tribal politics. Blacks vote for Blacks. Only a few of them have the courage to look inward and realize they need to escape the Democrat Plantation.

I can't believe you liberals are beating on this guy so bad. He has worked so hard and earned his job by hard work and the sweat of his brow. He's a pioneer, just like the Bushes and the Kennedys and the Gores are. This man should be cannonized and held up on a pedistal instead of being kicked while he's down

Godspeed Jackson family.

That he comes from a political culture where vast numbers of politicians are so mindbendingly stupid that they torpedo their own political careers with corruption that gets them tossed in jail even by Illinois standards is not a reflection on how wonderful Obama is. He managed to move ahead simply by not being a complete dunce, which in Illinois is a head start over everybody. This is the same atmosphere that benefits Chris Christie, Bobby Jindal and Andrew Cuomo. People think they're special simply because they're not ears-deep in corruption, brain-meltlingly incompetent, and/or banging every intern that walks past their offices.

Obama would still be a state senator today if Peter Fitzgerald had decided a US senator's life was okay after all, or if Jack Ryan simply lived by the maxim "hey - I get to bang the ever-living daylights out of Jeri Ryan. That's pretty damn sweet" and left it at that.
