It's a good show. I enjoy watching it and I enjoy the art and music people make based on it. That's about it though, I'm not interested in conventions or toy figures for any show, and if it involves going to the girl's toy aisle that's just a little too weird and obsessive for me. Even if I did want a Pinkie Pie figurine the fan made toys are far superior in looks to the cheap crap Hasbro makes. These guys aren't hurting anyone though so if they want to buy toy ponies more power to them.

TXEric: Cythraul: That's kinda creepy. Bronies, and I know our Fark Bronies will soon visit this thread, y'all need to tone this shiat down a bit.

This.
Especially in the NFL threads. I hate to ignore any Farkers, but am about to just to get some relief from this.
Enjoy it with your young daughters at home. For the rest of us, it's just creepy.

You're watching a child's game featuring grown men in tight pants playing with a ball. You can deal with some pony pics.

FirstNationalBastard: js34603: abhorrent1: FirstNationalBastard: People wanting to talk about football generally take the subject too seriously and need the piss taken out of them. Football fans are the bronies of the sports world.

Who the fark are you to decide when someone is "taking something too seriously. And like I said, if you don't like football, stay the fark out of football threads, problem solved. Unfortunately the football fans don't have that option available when you idiots are posting that shiat in every thread on the farking internet. I'm sure they have forums dedicated to bronies. Go there and enjoy your hobby and let other people enjoy theirs without guys like you constantly crapping the thread.

He really really REALLY likes a cartoon aimed at 5 year old girls. Obviously he is the best arbiter of who takes things too seriously.

Awwwwwww.... poor little armored wankball fans are crying like... well... Bronies because someone isn't paying homage to their favorite child's game.

Why not go riot because your team did or didn't win the Super Bowl.

We prefer to go out, drink, socialize, get the fark over it, and resume everyday life. That usually doesn't involve insulting and mocking Bronies until they start with the "LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! DEAL WITH ME AND MY PONY FETISH! ANY DISAGREEMENT WILL BE CONSIDERED OPPRESSION AND BIGOTRY!"

You morons do it everywhere on the internet. If you don't want to be insulted, keep it to yourself.

abhorrent1: FirstNationalBastard: I watch the show, I post pony pics in select threads, but that's about it. I think any over the top fandom is farking weird, from the Football weirdos upthread to Bronies to Trekkies.

Difference being, football people aren't going into bronie threads and posting pictures of football. Bronies complain about being vilified yet they feel the need to constantly hijack or derail threads with their stupid pony pictures regardless of the topic. Enjoy your ponies. Just enoy them with other bronies cause people wanting to talk about football don't give a fark about your love for little girl toys.

This. Also, being a Bromie isn't cute, ironic, or funny, so knock that shiat off and grow up already.

AlgertMan: Pedophiles.

It's nice to see you sharing about yourself and your family.

BHK: Well, I'd say that the infantilization of the American adult is complete. It explains a lot. Then again, I'm here posting on Fark, so I'm not exactly superior....

Ah, this one again...

Loomy: I'm confused... I thought the whole 'Brony' thing was done 'ironically' (or something...). Now you're telling me there's an actual male fanbase for the show? Is it hilariously filled w/ double-entendres and adult humour, so as to appeal to both 4-9 year old girls and their fathers (à-la-SpongeBob or Pixar flicks), or is it a straight-up kid's show that's inexplicably popular to childless grown men?

Yes, although it's not to the level of Pixar or Animaniacs. Stuff like the Big Lebowski bowling scene is definitely there for the grownups.

Can someone explain to me why a video of 10 smacktards now represents an entire fandom of hundreds of thousands?

I bet I can find 10 idiots together doing something you love as well, does that mean you are all maladjusted freaks?

/I give up.

"Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."
