Damn. I thought this was about game settings (as in options). I would still be playing Skyrim if it organized save files by character. I like to mix it up, but I hate trying to find the last save for a particular character.

To read that entire article means that you if you do not currently inhabit a basement, you will now be forced with pick and shovel to dig through your parents slab foundation and dig yourself out one.

And this from a person who likes Skyrim.

This is Skyrim, not Minecraft...

ESO is going to wreak worlds of shiat on World of Warcraft.

...but, then again, a lot of people said that about SW:TOR, too.

I have a feeling it's going to attract people (like me) who wouldn't normally go near an MMO. So there's taht.

I would like to see a Skyrim setting in a world where the combat is interesting and the skill system makes any sense at all.

The setting I would most like is one that turns off the 60 second wait every time you enter a new dungeon.

A friend and I are eagerly awaiting ESO, but we have our reservations.

Saying you want to appeal to both classical single-player gamers and the MMO crowd is a pretty lofty goal. I see that being very hard to perfectly and one side will almost certainly suffer.

Still, the prospect of exploring all of Tamriel gives me goosebumps.

*SIGH* Does anyone know what the BUGS IN JAR thing is all about?

This minor thing is driving me crazy! I keep reading posts that you are supposed to put these jars on something but I can't find where.

*Cool bug for PS3*

Put armor on a mannequin in your house and save. Go outside and save. Go back in and your mannequin now has two armor sets.

And on a-semi related note... I have been thinking about picking up DRAGON'S DOGMA... I've heard good and bad things about it, especially in comparison SKYRIM.

For the record enjoyed the DRAGON AGE and ELDER SCOLLS games quite a bit, it was everything I ever wanted from a game of DUNGEONS & DRAGONS without having to deal with killer DMs and bottles of Mr. Dew filled with urine...

To give Skyrim its sue, I have seldom had a better gaming moment that when I first called down a dragon to help with the assault on a major city. That was pretty freaking awesome.

They either don't do anything yet, or they were meant to to do something but that feature was never completed.

From UESP.net - Bugs in a Jar

Unique live bugs captured in jars. Each jar also carries a unique inscription etched into the inside of the lid, which all appear to be written in some form of runic script. The purpose/meaning of these items (and their inscriptions) is unknown, and there is no associated quest or reward for collecting them. The jars may respawn, allowing multiple copies of any jar to be collected.

From the elderscrolls.wikia:

each jar contains a different insect. It is one of many insects found living in Skyrim. There is currently no known use for this item. Like all the other insects in jars it is thought that they are simply for decoration.

No, I mean a world where the increase in power from skills is balanced such that most of them don't do more harm than good to level.

Lookin' at you, alchemy, most rogue skills, and most magic schools.

Yeap. You'd think that was annoying enough someone would have written a mod to manage save games by character, and a quick google search would find it...

Not that it wouldn't be cool to take the Thalmor conflict into Cyrodiil, I think I'd be disappointed to return to the Imperial City. When I read about the descriptions of the Imperial capitol from previous games (a blend of Roman and Chinese cultures) and then realized what we received in Oblivion (generic fantasy-ville), it was quite the let down.

There are a couple of things Dragon's Dogma could have done much better, but overall it is a fantastic game - I spent many hours playing it. The boss fights in it will be copied for many new RPGs I bet; 1st RPG that really made it feel like you were fighting something epic (even moreso than the dragon fights in Skyrim)

Meh, the boss fights were the worst part of Generic Dogma. That had to be the most bland uninspired RPG I've ever had the misfortune to play.

Shouldn't this be in the GEEK tab since there is nothing entertaining about Skyrim?

I'll play ESO for the same reason I picked up WoW- I'm so heavily invested in the series' storyline that I'm more-than-excited to see how they expand on it.

You know, by introducing setbacks, killing off "villains", and blowing your load by your second expansion.

It isn't really a new setting, but I always wished the game did more with the Forsworn. You get one awesome questline where you break their king out of jail, and that's it; I thought it would be cool if you could lead them in battle against both the empire and the Stormcloaks to gain self-determination for the Bretons of the Reach.

I did like the Forsworn story, but I'd be a lot more fond of eradicating them, personally. Their fight-first mentality has caused me a lot of trouble, and those Briarhearts have ears that are way too sensitive.

Not being a retard is the key to being able to spot trolls from people who hold believes contrary to yours. I know it is hard to understand that not every body thinks like you do, and not every body got a light bulb stuck up their ass, but hey it is the truth.

I'm flattered, sweety. I really am, but pointing out your trollishness was just that. It wasn't meant to be flirtatious or "lead you on" in any way. I'm really sorry if that's what you thought. I'm happily married but I'm sure the right guy is out there just waiting for you!

Yeah, that's my one beef with Elder Scrolls games. By the end of all the questlines you're in charge of four different guilds, a high ranking officer in whatever army you chose, you've become the chosen one of an ancient prophecy and saved the world... yet the world looks the same and random beggars still expect you to deliver their mail for them.
