Mark Ratner: I think it's safe to say, she has daddy issues.
Darth_Lukecash: /What is it about England and Incest? This is like the third or fourth story about incest...
SpaceyCat: O.o Eeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.....The idea of farking my dad just squicks me out completely. There have been studies done that if family are separated early enough, they don't develop that "family - don't fark" thing that people have. This has happened between siblings as well as mother/son and father/daughter pairings.
Swedgin: Of course she'd be from Birmingham.
Ambivalence: You know, say waht you will about the U.S. but at least it's not a crime to have sex with your adult child. Sure it's pervy and you can't MARRY them, but no one's going to throw you in jail for it either.
Langdon_777: They are both adults and yet he goes to jail for the exact same crime she gets a suspended sentence for. There really is some serious discrimination going on in courts, at least in so far as equal punishment for men & women.
Ambivalence: You know, say waht you will about the U.S. but at least it's not a crime to have sex with your adult child. Sure it's pervy and you can't MARRY them, but no one's going to throw you in jail for it either. That being said she is the spitting image of her father.
zerkalo: on the one hand, I miss intimate relations. On the other hand, I got enough of me own stuff to work through. And alone is cheaper. But less interesting, granted
vwarb: Does anybody else absolutely despise the tendency for Brit papers to preface every caption with a one-word summary of how we're supposed to feel about it? ex. "Revolting ... Andrew was jailed for ten months and ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register" and "Frantic ... mum Katrina has not heard from her daughter since January."
Rik01: This is known as Genetic Sexual Attraction. It probably felt overwhelming - she was bringing a lifetime's longing to the relationship.I've heard of this before. The normal emotional barriers are not in place if the parent vanished when the child was too young to recall anything and had no contact since. I've also heard of the 'Electra Complex' where a daughter winds up in competition with her mom for the father's affections. This one is more common than you might think and can lead to incest. Usually, it starts to show up during puberty.I didn't know the Brits had laws forbidding incestuous relationships between two consenting adults. I would think by the time they reach adult hood, legally they'd be able to make their own decisions concerning sexual partners since one is not taking advantage of a minor.I guess the few cases of kids being separated at birth, never knowing each other, then encountering each other by accident and not knowing they're siblings -- until much later -- could get them tossed in jail also. Then again, technically, we're all, according to religion, the products of an incestuous relationship. Adam and Eve were the first people. They had kids -- and with no other folks about, would have married each other and spawned the human race. This is a pretty good case for Intelligent Design and Evolution.I suspect that the mental prevention most folks have concerning parental incest is due to close proximity of the parents for the majority of their formational lives. How much genetics plays in that, I'm not sure. Plus, we still have a great amount to learn about the sex drive and all of it's complexities.BTW. Neither the Mum or the Daughter, IMO, are raving beauties.
SomethingToDo: So all you Studmen are saying she's got a face only a father could love?
Jadedgrl: Plus, I don't put much stock into Freud. He was messed up...
Jesda: Life imitates art. This was the subject of a recent SVU episode.
