halfof33: Goes to Tony's blog on CNN.

Gets a Lexus sidebar ad. Again.

Sorry guys on the Caddy line!

Fark me sideways Tony

Just as Bourdain doesn't have control over the ads that run during his show, he doesn't have control over the ads that appear on CNN. His gripe was they edited the show to make it appear as if he had endorsed a product without his permission or him actually endorsing it.

InmanRoshi: Anthony Bourdain seems to spend more amount of calories worrying about being "cool" than any man of his age should. Take off the Ramones shirt, the thumb ring and the hoop ear ring for fark's sake, you're 56 years old.

Maybe he likes the Ramones. The band is nearly 40 years old. If that makes you cool, there's a righteous Beethoven shirt I want to sell you.

bourdain's cleveland show was epic. american splendor, marky ramone and mike symon, and replicating the famous les halles cassoulet with his food writing nemisis michael ruhlman. the american splendor featured harvey pekar and was presented in semi-comic form like the movie. i don't think bourdain is an asshole, i'd like to drink with him and listen to 70's punk in a seedy bar, but even if he is that one show alone cemented his legacy IMO.

SockMonkeyHolocaust: He enabled this whole chefs-as-celebrities culture kick thing that people have been going on about so whatever he says I am against.

You really have no idea what you're talking about.

B.L.Z. Bub: Can someone explain to me why Fark is always licking this guy's balls?

Because they're soaked in rum and covered in chocolate syrup and ice cream sprinkles.

What? You would too, don't deny it.

/off to the ladies bunks again

I don't know about anyone else but I love his books and I loved his show.

He's also sexy. Sooooo if licking his balls is wrong, I don't want to be right.

FishyFred: He has never been pompous at all. The fact that he feels he should apologize for endorsing Chase on his show is proof. I don't blame him for taking that money because, like he says, it greased the wheels with the bean counters.

/did some work for Travel during the credit card thing
//was way down the totem pole so never heard a peep about it
///but have since made friends in high places and hear incredible things about all of your favorite TV personalities

You mean unlike Alex Baldwin shrills for his credit card masters.

/ like Bourdain. Lebanon episode among the best.

I have always liked him since his show debuted. One thing that really made me go "wow, this guy is awesome in a sense " was when he asked folks to submit ideas, and he took a few to heart. One was from a PA, and then he went to Korea, and dammit if that didnt make me want to make Kimchi. I really hope that his new show is good as I miss the old one already- so many places and so much great, if not wondermous eats, around the globe and so many really cool folks that let him into their homes. I know- its tv, but I am pretty sure that a bit of it was real.
I know, long post, but- there are 3 folks on the planet that if they owned a restaurant I would consider getting back into that, And Tony is one of them. I wont release the other 2 names except over dinner.

I do like his show, and he's lucky to have such a cool job. But, does anyone not think that he'd be a dickbag to work with and a total pompous jackass if you ever met him in real life?
