Hagee, Osteen or Jeffress?

Texas Megachurch pastor and former Rick Perry supporter Robert Jeffress predicted on the Sunday before Election Day that President Obama's re-election "would lead to the reign of the Antichrist" in the United States

Oh Texas, my home. No one can breed a first-class asshole like you.

I think the future reign of the Antichrist will be awesome! Thanks, pastor-who ever you are.

faith is why you lose, republicans.

you have faith that god created the earth in 6 days. you had faith that saddam had wmd. you had faith that romney would win. when faith goes up against reality, it loses every time. you have faith in a conclusion and then you cherry-pick, sorry, "unskew" evidence to support it. and this is why you fail.

the sooner you follow barry goldwater's advice and get rid of these "preachers," the sooner you can be a national party again.

2012-11-12 05:50:51 PM
Jeffress added that "it is time for Christians to stand up and to push back against this evil that is overtaking our nation" and to do so via "the ballot box."

Here's what I don't get. Only with the arrival of the Antichrist would The Christ return to begin the Final Judgment. I mean, evangelical Christians already are hoping that the reformation of Israel would signal the end of days as The Christ returns to battle the Antichrist at Har Meggido (AKA Armageddon).

Why the hell would they be AGAINST the arrival of the Antichrist? I mean, isn't the arrival of the Antichrist EXACTLY what they want? If the Antichrist doesn't come onto the scene, then there would be no second coming of The Christ.

I'm not saying you're a f*cking idiot...

What does that mean? Does that mean the only office they'll never hold is the office of the President?

The funny thing is that its the Christians who worship a "Christ" who want no healthcare for poor people, don't want to help anyone less fortunate than themselves, want no rights for women, love war, and hate taxes.

So, to them, Obama IS the anti-Christ.

The script has been flipped.

Romney ended up winning white evangelicals by "essentially the same percentage (79 percent) that he won Mormons (78 percent)."

Hmm. Interesting.

What is wrong with these people? I know we are seeing the last gasps of a dying ideology but hurry up already.

Back when he was Community Organizer for the Sorceror's Guild, he did look kind of Anti-Christ:

but you follow the teachings of a right lunatic that lived about 2000 years ago because he said he heard voices in his head, which is pretty farking idiotic.

Besides the fact that christianity is 10 lbs of shiat in a 1lb box, christians quite simply don't believe what they profess - and this is a good example of that fact. Just as so many christians will continue to blow other guys down out the truckstop and sing in the choir on Sunday - they simply don't believe any of that bronze-age who-haw.

The rational explanation is that there is no anti-christ and no "end times". Same as it ever was...

You would think after the this election, 4 years of Obama as actual president, and all of the previous end of the world rhetoric they've spewed that has already proven completely false, they would learn. Of course, that would be giving them credit for being able to think and be rational. Apparently, that would be WAY too much credit.

If you look at discussion threads full of conservatives, you'll see most of them bellyaching about how Mitt wasn't enough of a far-right candidate to win.

Isn't that what they want? So why didn't they vote for Obama?

Dear pastor,

What are your thoughts on Romans 13?

2012-11-12 07:04:16 PM
Yes. I am an Atheist and he is #1 with me. Suck it down, asshole. I am currently going to give money to a pro-gay sex group and perform an abortion on this can of beer. Sucking it right out.

LOLOLOLOLOL. Suck the butthurt you fleecing fark.

Hey y'all, it's the antichrist! Isn't that super?

They need to pick one and stick with him. According to the Book of Revelation, Antichrist will only rule on the Earth for three and a half years, because the Tribulation is only going to last for seven (the other 3 1/2 years being the war or something). So already, Obama CAN'T be Antichrist, because he's been here for four; ergo, he's outlasted his time on Earth by half a year. He can't be it.

Which only proves the impossibility of using a 2000-year old "prediction" that was meant to demonstrate why Nero was Antichrist and Rome was the Great Whore, to live your life today; but there you are.

2012-11-12 07:05:22 PM
Here I am, thinking the Anti-Christ would be the person who went to war in nations across the world while simultaneously claiming that God instructed him to do so. Silly me.

I'd say give the points, they should crucify at least 14 this Sunday.

Just alienate 3/4 of your party and you'll start winning elections left and right!

As much as I'd like to be able to consider voting for Republicans (predicated on them dropping the fundies.) I know it won't and can't happen.

Exactly.

"One reason I know he's not the Antichrist is the Antichrist is going to have much higher poll numbers when he comes," said Jeffress.

Wow, and your side couldn't beat a candidate with lower poll numbers than the Antichrist?!

I have the feeling that if an Antichrist where to appear people like this would follow him like a rabid dog and use their bibles to kill anyone who opposes them.

Incidentally, aren't Christians the ones who are predominantly going to be fooled by the so-called AntiChrist?

His philosophy has more in common with The Antichrist's than the Nazarene's.

Barely a week goes by without some Christ-worshiper making life miserable for others. Meanwhile, I can't remember a single time when some antichrist ever bothered me in the least.

I say we let the antichrists have a shot at leadership. They seem like better people.
