jesdynf: Jesus Christ what's wrong with this thread? I've got 42 posts visible of 159.

If you ignored clowncar on fire then you lost about 35% of them right there.

If that troll is anything, its prolific.

This is the same state that recently closed down DHS so they didn't have to impliment changes in the system. Ok DHS lost a lawsuit with a children's protection group to change the current system after several children DIED under DHS's care. So, if they close down the agentcy, they don't have to spend the money to fix it the way they were court-ordered to. They open it up under a diffrent name and, "poof", no more problems. They also lost several court cases against workers who either beat and abused children, suppressed evidence that lead to a child's death, or allowed systematic child abuse to occor, sometimes for years at a time. But we are the "best state for the unborn" according to our govenor. Too bad it's on top of the list of worst place for a child to grow up.

jso2897: No Water, No Moon

When the nun Chiyono studied Zen under Bukko of Engaku she was unable to attain the fruits of meditation for a long time.

At last one moonlit night she was carrying water in an old pail bound with bamboo. The bamboo broke and the bottom fell out of the pail, and at that moment Chiyono was set free!

In commemoration, she wrote a poem:

In this way and that I tried to save the old pail
Since the bamboo strip was weakening and about
to break
Until at last the bottom fell out.
No more water in the pail!
No more moon in the water!

Silly Jesus: StreetlightInTheGhetto: Silly Jesus: "They won't let us give people free shiat, WAAAAAH!"

Well, yes. Hungry babies and young children do, indeed, cry. Quite often, actually.

ZING! It's just like middle school again.

Don't knock middle school. It was the best 8 years of your life.

clowncar on fire: Theytend to rise up and take shiat by any means necessary when they get really hungry. There would be no "just letting them die"

I was going to point this out. You would just end up with a bunch of people in jail for breaking the law to feed themselves. Then you'd have to pay to feed and house them. It's counterproductive as well as immoral.

But I'm through trying to engage with Silly. Next stop Plonksville. Again.

Nobodyn0se: Ed Grubermann: Nobodyn0se: I'm wondering why that is.

Because people pay attention to him. Just like any other troll. He's here for the attention and he's found a pretty good schtick, all things considered.

I'm not a troll and I still get people to pay attention to me. If I can do it, why can't he?

Because you are not an asshole.

And let's not forget the DHS worker who beat a child to death and got a $5000 fine. Does anyone think for one moment republicans care about a single postborn person? When it comes to cutting the budget, it's always women and children first. We rate some of the poorest schools in the nation, and one of the lowest taxes on oil producers. We continue to fight treaties with native americans on everything from water rights, tobacco taxes, and land, and our capital building and roads are falling apart. Look in wonder at a truly republican state.

Jiro Dreams Of McRibs: Silly Jesus: Coco LaFemme: A great way for me to judge how much concentrated derp is in a thread, is by how many posts disappear when I click on it. It says 109, I only see 35. That's a shiat-load of derp, right there.

Are you the person who comes into every thread and posts that same line or is that some other moron?

Are you the troll who ends every posting with a question? Why do trolls do that? Why?

You have something against the Socratic method?

Blue_Blazer: clowncar on fire: fusillade762: Silly Jesus: fusillade762: Silly Jesus: Taxpayers shouldn't have to subsidize those who would terminate children or those who encourage it.

Terminating them with poverty and starvation is A-OK, though.

Hunger is a heck of a motivating factor in getting a job. A check in the mailbox each month isn't. If they choose suicide through laziness / learned helplessness, so be it. We're better off without them. What exactly is society gaining by subsidizing their existence?

So people who can't afford food should be allowed to starve to death? Got it.

I agree with this first part. At some point Clinton had endorsed legislation that reduced subsides for the poor. There wasn't a whole lot of name calling or gnashing of teeth: people who were able to work simply went back to work. Those who didn't alowed us a brief realistic glance at who should and shouldn't have been on the roles.

Farkers have no problem railing out educators for handing out stars for to students for remembering to breath, often referring to this as enabling entitlement behavior. Exist and you get rewarded. For those with kids, you know that even your kids recognize a certain inequality in terms of rewarding everyone in lieu of the exceptional behavior of the few. How much of a stretch is it to recognize that giving unconditional support could not but create an entitled class of people - and by entitled, I mean with the expectation of support without any strings or returned responsibility?

I do believe that there are a good sized segmant of the poor that would work if partially subsidized for the shortfall they would expirience by accepting low waged jobs: by nature most people enjoy the pride of accomplishment and reward rather than the feeling of indeptitude that would accompany living off others- for those, I might add, who have not been conditioned to to point of entitlement.

I would not personally recommend the starving them out method however- people just ...

Econ 101, how does it work?

You do realize that there are a hell of a lot of jobs that wouldn't exist if the wages were doubled, don't you? How big do you think margins are? What unicorn do you think delivers the money?

Such naivete is scary / sad.

It's the same unicorn that delivers to you your belief that money has intrinsic value.

Bashar and Asma's Infinite Playlist: How can Oklahoma prevent Planned Parenthood from getting federal funding?

they can do what texas did. pass a law that essentially cuts off state funding to planned parenthood, which in turn violates the terms of the federal funding for the entire state, and viola! for added measure blame the federal government and regulators for cutting off your states $5 billion healthcare funding.

WhyteRaven74: Funny thing about that. In Jesus' day abortion was not only a well known and well established thing, it was allowed under Jewish law in certain cases. And Jesus thus would've known very well about abortion.

Holy crap -really?

Can you offer some links for this? My phone is poopie when it comes to searches.
