(TSN)   So I know this guy who knows the pharmacist to a well known NHL goalie and he told the pharmacist that the team sent out a practice schedule beginning in two weeks. Now we can haz hockey?   (tsn.ca) divider line 9

Subby, do I need to point out that we've ALWAYS had hockey? Just not NHL. I've seen many hockey games this year and I've attended many hockey games (professional) this year.

It's called the AHL. This is only one instance of a professional, Non-NHL league. There exist many both in the U.S. and Canada and overseas.

There is a HUGE difference. Maybe you're a newbie to the sport.

jj325: Hockey can only be saved by moving the season to spring and summer. As long as it needs to compete with the NFL/NBA/NCAA Football/Basketball it is not going to generate the excitement/TV revenues necessary to sustain itself. Start the season in March and play though August. I'm not a hockey fan, but would gladly watch some hockey rather than baseball

I can't tell if you're funny, trolling, or stupid. How do you feel about moving winter league baseball to Finland so it doesn't have to compete with soccer?

The Canes and the Checkers are the same drive for me. And a lot of the Checkers have played for the Canes at some point.

So....FARK you Buttman, I still get my hockey

DaCaptain19: Care to play a little "what if"?

Your opinions...what if Gary Bettman woke up tomorrow to find nobody cared about the NHL anymore? Individually and corporate.

So we're talking all corporate owners of the "boxes" get their season tickets refunded and cease to re-purchase, individual season ticket holders get their refunds and don't renew, NHL merchandise sales cease, opening night sales (next season) are literally nill, etc. All overnight as if we'd passed through a comet that erased any care about the NHL in everyone.

Love to hear your responses.

I'd laugh hysterically if that happened, but it won't. Yes, it would lead to the loss of my team (as if this lockout won't). But considering that we've been owned by the league for the last 3 years and at the highest moment we've ever had, they fark us like this... fark them too.

SO MUCH THIS!
I watch MORE hockey during lockout years. KHL and Canadian Major Junior (WHL, OHL, QMJHL) games are great too, and many of them are streamed online. There's plenty of hockey. It's your own fault if you aren't watching it.

Remember how there was a story that during the last lockout, Bain Capital tried to buy the entire NHL? I wonder if someone with $5-6 billion lying around is looking at doing that now. That might be the only way to save the league.

This is so frustrating. Even God tried to wipe out the NHL's offices with a hurricane, and it didn't work. Bettman's never going to give us a season.

Unlikely is right. More like "beginning in FIFTY-two weeks."

Screw Don Fehr
Screw Gary Bettman
Screw the PA
Screw the Owners

Hope they all get a lump of coal or a couple dog turds in their Christmas stockings.
