Okay, I'm over my laughing jag over that headline. Now then, as to the ex-general, he rode the crest of a wave of public adulation as a virtual renaissance man, capable of bringing the peace and winning the war. The relevant fact is that he was a man, full of foibles and weaknesses just like the rest of us. He succumbed to one weakness and he paid the price for it.
