The county prosecutor will throw the book at him to make an example of him. The kid is an idiot and knew what he was doing. But people claiming that they "felt imminent fear for their personal safety"...come on man! Really? Quit being such a pussy!

To all you brave motherfarkers in this thread who think those five people who bolted are pussies:

If you saw someone dressed in a very specific way (a Joker mask) in a specific type of venue (a movie theater) that tied them to a rather recent mass shooting (in a state now known for two of 'em), how would you react? Would your first instinct be to take your time calmly visually inspecting the person to see if they were a credible threat?

Because mine would be to get the hell out of there. Call me a coward, I don't care. While you may be right 9 out of 10 times, I'll be alive 10 out of 10.

I am surprised someone didn't just football tackle him and go to town on his face. I would be tempted. It would be pretty easy to say you thought you where acting to save lives and because you felt threatened.

A swift and hard kick to the nuts would have been an excellent "negative feedback" for this jackwagon.

What is too far? It's about as asinine as arresting people for wearing black trench coats after Columbine.

Who ever heard of copy cat crimes? No one. In fact the term doesn't exist, I had to make it up just now. Those people are stupid.

Right. This.
If I'm with my kid, knowing how farking stupid Ameerika is and knowing that people would rather copy a crime than commit something new, I would over-react, grab my kid and run.
Maybe a lot of you just don't have that much to live for, but I do.
I'm kind of a big deal.

slashmonkey: FIVE counts of menacing for the same act? This 'law' works in mysterious ways. He should have trolled around a little more.

/yeah it's still to early
//kid is a jerk but really what are kind of people are we turning into??

We live in a world where the punishment SHOULD be someone beating the shiat out of him for being a dick...but in a world where someone doing that would be arrested for assault, and sued by said dick. That leaves charging the dick with a crime.

Remember, we wouldn't have so many laws if people behaved themselves.

The kind that will mimic one of the most horrific mass shootings in US history in the same state a few months after it happened? I think we're reacting to increased stupid

Charged with menacing. So anytime you scare someone, you can be charged with menacing. Only in Boulder™

Did he even say BOO?

That was in bad taste, which should not carry a criminal penalty unless you want to lock up half the patrons of Walmart. (Or is bad taste required at Walmart?) Nor should anyone have harmed him for what was basically a bad joke: the proper response is to shake your finger and tell him "That is a very bad and tasteless joke. Save it for the frat house."

Unfortunately America has been taken over by brainless and castrated sheep and hot-headed fascistoids claiming to "protect" them. It's disgraceful. Anyone who was scared shiatless by that should lose the privileges of driving, voting and reproducing, and anyone who wants to use it as an excuse to knock the fark out of a silly misfit should be taken out and shot.

Nixon would be a liberal now; the terrorists have won.

Agree

The kid's full retard for doing the stunt

And the people who panicked are at least 3/4 retard

/also kinda surprised the kid didn't get the shiat kicked out of him

No, but likely the goal is not to make him suffer long-term for his bad decision.

Now ratchet things up to pants-shiatting intensity for awhile is where they're headed with it.
