Lost Thought 00: No. Senators rarely get elected without prior political experience, and when they do they usually suck because they don't know how to work the system

Maybe I should have said, "And they're sure she's experienced enough and intelligent enough to do the farking job, how?"

After learning what little I know of her history from this thread, I won't be that worried about her capability to effectively carry out her duty while in office. But I imagine quite a few will have to be educated about her qualifications before they'd vote for her. Many may assume she's just a Hollywood actress and leave it at that. I'm not a uninformed person, generally, yet I had no idea she was a Harvard grad, and has had experience with positions of leadership in a few organizations.

Maybe you could wait at least until she is sworn in before passing judgement on her effectiveness.

So, she is a sorority girl, and that is supposed to make me want to vote for her?

/the Harvard thing isn't helping either. Seems like they make derpy politicians.

Presidents with Harvard degrees

1. John Adams
2. John Quincy Adams
3. Rutherford B. Hayes
4. Theodore Roosevelt
5. Franklin D. Roosevelt
6. John F. Kennedy
7. George W. Bush
8. Barack Obama

Save for one item on that list, your argument is invalid retarded.

Wikipedia: The Phi Beta Kappa Society, an academic honor society in the United States, has 280 chapters. It aims to promote and advocate excellence in the liberal arts and sciences, and induct the most outstanding students of arts and sciences at American colleges and universities.[1] Founded at The College of William and Mary on December 5, 1776, as the first collegiate Greek-letter fraternity, it is also the oldest honor society for the liberal arts and sciences and among the oldest undergraduate societies in the United States.[2] Phi Beta Kappa (ΦΒΚ) stands for Φιλοσοφία Βίου Κυβερνήτης or philosophia biou kybernētēs - "Love of learning is the guide of life".[3][4]

Phi Beta Kappa is an honor society, not a sorority.

Cythraul: And she's qualified, how?

No Person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty Years, and been nine Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen. [U.S. Constitution, Article I, section 3, clause 3]

She'll be 46 in 2014, has been a citizen since birth, and as far as legal inhabitance goes there's more than enough time to establish that. Though her Kentuckian credentials at least aren't really in any kind of serious dispute.

Since those are the only qualifications... I'd say she's qualified.

If she runs as a Republican that stuff wouldn't mean a thing.
