It's generally a bad idea to eat things you find growing in your front yard.

Death from mycotoxin intoxication is generally a very, very unpleasant one. And since most pain medications have to be activated by the liver through first-pass metabolism to be effective, enjoy not having one for your short, agonizing life.

Data says there were 1,700 cases of mushroom ingestion in California? Sounds like bad data. There are probably pizza joints that account for that many cases per week. I ingested mushrooms thrice last week. Granted, they came from the supermarket, but there was mushroom ingestion happening.
