SacriliciousBeerSwiller: God I hope some teabaggers get violent, just so that mainstream America sees how truly stupid and farked up these people are.

You mean the lone wolves that the media refuse to lump together as a bigger narrative because the tea party/conservatives dont want to come off as ignorant and racist? Yeah seems like it'll work.

Keep fighting it Allen. Soak as much money as you can from your Teatard backers.
If all else fails just make your House office into a bunker and DARE those commie rats to force you out.

You can do it.

Gyrfalcon: Fool_Marquis: I'm going to regret asking this:

Is anyone here: anyone at all, the least bit concerned that there were more total votes than the total number of registered voters?

Or do you doubt the veracity of this detail of the story? Townhall is probably about as reliable of a source as The Register, but it does list several verifiable facts and figures, such as the location (St. Lucie county), the registered voting population (175,554) and the number of ballots cast (247,713). This isn't hard, all we have to do to confirm or deny is contact the state's supervisor of election (Gertrude Walker), or her office. We can't do that monday because, well, federal holiday, but Tuesday we could make such contact...

I don't give a shiat about Al West or whoever is running in a given district. Not my state, so it has no effect on me. I'm much, much more worried about the state of our electoral system... either the ballot boxes were ludicrously stuffed, or else someone farked up the count and double-counted close to half the ballots.

If the latter, then yeah, they need to be fired (but probably won't be since... government job), if the former... how could we prevent such fraud from occurring again?

Anyone out there have a third explanation?

Sure. Although it wouldn't address large numbers necessarily.

Anyone who moved before the election, who legally registered prior to the election but not in time to be counted on the official registration tally, who legally registered in one precinct but legally voted in another (which is possible, but a pain in the ass), any of these would throw off the counts, such that it might appear that more people voted than were registered. It's entirely possible to register and vote the same day, because this is America and anyone legally eligible can vote; it's not like there's some kind of waiting period. If you turn 18 the day of the election, you don't have to wait another year to vote, but you might not appear on the registration c ...

The explanation that the 140.92% value is the number of "ballot cards" cast compared to the total number of registered voters, and that a registered voter who submitted both pages of the two-page ballot would have cast two "cards", is not only simpler, but it is explicitly presented by the St. Lucie County elections website.

Nonsense like smitty's headline is precisely the kind of thing that caused your side to lose the election:

Memo to Eraser8.
No, the reason the Romney lost the election was that 0bama got more votes (yeah, yeah, electoral college).
The reason why Pelosi failed in getting back the House is that the GOP got more votes.

That's false. Democratic congressional candidates got more votes. The GOP held the House pretty much solely because of the amount of gerrymandering they were able to get away with in 2010.

That said, Democrats managed to gain seats in both the House and the Senate, in addition to retaining the White House. So it would be absurd to suggest that House Republicans gave any kind of mandate. They still lost seats, in spite of the extreme gerrymanders.

mrlewish: Repubs are just pissed that their voter fraud wasn't enough to overcome the electorate margin.

Well, since most teabagger websites look like they were made in 1997, it might have been a little overly optimistic to think they'd have properly calibrated the software to rig the voting machines.

As I said elsewhere, my facebook friend who's screaming the loudest about voter fraud is the one who got busted for voter fraud himself in 2000. If it didn't feel far too much like spiking the football, I'd say something to him about how yeah, he should know about voter fraud.

Being a Wisconsinite I can tell you the reason for voter IDs is because there are 2 votes for every democrat. The reality, contrary to what stand up comics on the daily show dictate to loyal lemmings, is fraud is rampant and blue.

Well I'm from Wisonconsin, and I can tell you that voter fraud is extremely rare and not a real problem. What happens when two people from Wisconsin disagree? This one is tough given we both have extremely solid evidence, being from Wisconsin and all.

He may be from the alternate reality Wisconsin. The one where Scott Walker has created jobs instead of losing them and the Packers won the Superbowl last year. Things are different there.

You have accidentally neglected to reference actual statistical data that supports your assertion. I am certain, however, that you will remedy this error in a subsequent posting.

enjoy

I like this one:

recounts and an investigation shoudl have been done in FL,WI,OH,VA,NM,PA because there is no way these results add up and no matter how many times the trolls or cowards on here try and tell us that we have to move on or try to justify this fraud tne it does nto mean we still cannot pressure the GOP and talk radio and true the vote and FOX

His argument that "the results" do not "add up" is accurate. Unskewed polls, anecdotal stories and gut feelings consistently forecast a victory for Governor Romney. How, then, may his loss be explained?
