One of the airmen from the film will be featured during pregame for the Seahawks today, as well. His name is Joe Moser, a P-38 pilot.

So, is it a Hogan's Heroes reboot?

Subby?

This actually looks insanely interesting.
We've given up cable television so I won't be able to catch it until it (hopefully) hits Netflix. But - this is something that genuinely interests me and the trailer looks really awesome.

Good luck!

I am the Subby. Thank you. We just did a deal with Netflix, so it should be there soon. It's also available on DVD via Amazon. My grandfather was one of the airmen imprisoned in Buchenwald, so this was a family story that I was finally able to produce into a doc. We found and interviewed a total of 7 airmen who were in the group, including 4 Americans, 2 Canadians, and their senior officer who was from New Zealand.

Military Channel will be showing a shortened version of the film - about an hour shorter than the original 1 hr 45 min version. But we are very stoked that they're including it in their Veterans Day weekend programming, and in such a prime timeslot.

Your grandfather is pretty badass.
I look forward to the Netflix full-length video and have passed it off to some of my friends who are history buffs!

Congratulations on this.

Will Netflix have the full length documentary?

Amazing. Beautiful shots; that is some lovely camera work in the trees. And the story sounds absolutely fascinating. Can't wat to see it.

Thanks for the heads up. Just set the DVR.

I also posted it on my Facebook too. My former father-in-law was shot down over Germany during WWII and spend the last of the war as a POW.

I understand that the Army Air Corps suffered greater casualties over Europe that what the Marines suffered hitting the beaches in the Pacific Theater. I've heard this little factoid but I've not been able to confirm it personally. I guess it's not as thrilling for movies to show people getting shot out of the sky as compared to extended ground combat.

Thanks! We shot most of the film on a Canon 7D. It's one of those stories that got more fascinating the deeper I got into the research and the more people that I talked to who were there. Each airman we interviewed held different pieces of the puzzle.

Very cool. I was planning to watch it tonight.
Having been made by a Farker makes it that much more Spiffy.

Thanks again. I'm looking forward to seeing it, too. I haven't seen their edit of the film yet, but I trust that they did a good job cutting it down for TV.

I got to see the first half then some unexpected company came by., Very nicely done. I don't think I'll watch the replay at 12:00 though. After watching the first half I think I would rather see the full uncut version. I'm kind of a WWII freak so I'm going to buy me the DVD for Christmas.

Again, Very nicely done!

Thank you, sir! I actually went to see Skyfall tonight. Too hard for me to watch "my baby" broadcasted to 60M homes, although I suspect not all of them were watching. ;)

Will be watching the DVR later. I highly recommend the full-length version. We screened it in a theater over the weekend, and the audience looked dazed when it was over.
