I have to agree. Of course, I'm also a big Gordon fan. I've not seen him be totally stupid like this in years. He's gotta have a good reason for it in his head, even if the rest of us don't think it's a good reason. He's also in the Chase just like Bowyer, so why isn't anyone pissed at Clint for cutting Gordon's tire and causing him to hit the wall a few laps prior. I'd have been pissed too. But I don't think I would try to take out another car in the last laps of the race. Everyone makes bad choices sometimes.

Yeah. Looks like the focus this time is on fixing the 1.5 milers, which is absolutely where it should be, if we're stuck with em for now.

The thing is, I get the feeling that NASCAR is mostly angling for an "at least they tried," consolation from the fans. They talk about reducing horsepower, but don't commit to it. They talked about reducing downforce, but added it all back and are now going in the opposite direction.

I'm hopeful for next season to have better side by side racing, but I'm not confident in NASCAR's ability to break its own groupthink which lands us in our current spot every few years.

Still, at least they're aware of what fans are saying, which is more than I'd have credited 'em with, and a lot better than the current "fark what the fans want" attitude over in Indycar. Heh.

Go back to using the 1970 body styles. Problem solved.

Use 'stock' cars right from the showroom. Complete with all the stock systems. Be careful bump drafting or you'll deploy the airbags. And carry a trunk full of moonshine.

She was the first car one lap down and hers was the second pit stall. I agree that it should be flagged but even if it was she still needed to cross the line or lose four positions and lose the 14th place purse.

Unofficial results on NASCAR.com have Danica on the lead lap.

The listed her one lap down when I checked it. They also have three cars listed behind her on the lead lap. As there were no cars between her and Harvick when the 29 crossed so I'm thinking that we'll see another change before it goes official.

I just looked again. She's listed on lap 319 with everyone else. True, she'll likely get listed a lap down. But what was she supposed to do? She got spun in turn 4, and probably missed the pit entrance. NASCAR should've thrown a caution.

They've been racing together since they were kids, and she always got more attention than him. He wins Indy 500s and IRL championships, but she overshadows him with a top 5 Indy 500 finish and a single IRL win. He goes to NASCAR, does okay-but-not-great, and she follows him and top30s her way into Cup while he's fighting for a 2nd chance.

It comes down to 2 races at the end of a season for him to prove himself, and who is right there, cutting his tire down?

Danica farkin' Patrick ;)

To clarify: Waltrip hid in his office feeling sorry for himself, Truex consoled Mikey but skipped the meeting too, and Bowyer also skipped.

My kids commented that if it has so many bad things that can happen, why would you take it?

Reminds me of a friend of mine's 5 year old daughter running around singing "it's a beautiful day." from the Valtrex ads

Dumb-Ass-Monkey: Alan Kulwicki won the first Phoenix race in 98?
that's impressive, since he'd been dead for 5 years at that point.

Well, they *did* have to shoot him in the head after the race, because he kept trying to eat the Winston girl...

Stopping distance is determined primarily by the compound. Asymmetrical tread patterns benefit cornering.

Mztlplx: Go back to using the 1970 body styles. Problem solved.

Yes

clear_prop: Use 'stock' cars right from the showroom. Complete with all the stock systems. Be careful bump drafting or you'll deploy the airbags. And carry a trunk full of moonshine.

And Yes.

Wait.. if NASCAR ever goes full ethanol, wouldn't that technically count as moonshine in the trunk?

clear_prop: Mztlplx: Jensaarai: ClavellBCMI: And all of the changes that were made to come up with the 2012 car were in an effort to get rid of pack racing and freight-train drafting, which really only affected the races at Daytona and Talledega (and Texas, to a degree).

Heh.

These days it would be carrying a trunk-full of either meth or pot.

Clear that @Keselowski is in @JimmieJohnson's head right now. Mainly because he just checked in on @FourSquare from "Jimmie Johnson's Head."

vegaswench: Shadow Blasko: Ended up sleeping in my car last night for complicated reasons not related to me, and I am sore and tired.

Heck with the bondage stuff. I would like to hear about this sleeping in the car thing.

My roommate has his kids on the weekends, and his ex doesn't like me so I occupy "elsewhere" on the weekends.

Elsewhere is usually a friend of mines "party/crash" pad. Last night *her* boyfriend went megadouche and started throwing furniture and wrecking the place because she had to work late and he wanted to go party.

He ended up OD'ing and in the hospital. I left when the throwing shiat started, because I don't need to be around that shiat anymore, and I didn't wanna deal with cops when the eventual meltdown happened.

Turns out I still have good instincts.

But, as it midnight by the time I was out of there, I just ended up in the local walmart parking lot. It was ok, I still had my ren faire stuff in the car, so I just wrapped up in my cloak and camped in my RX8.

/End story.

Okay, it's getting serious. Forget the idol, which has forsaken us. I say we all use our collective power to root for Keselowski and Bowyer the next two races.

You and me both, I submitted this 2 hours ago, and it's *still* not on the greenlit list.

And, in the meantime, the WWE PPV thread got greened 6 hrs early.

They had to appease the fWc bunch, they're not only bigger, but I understand they have other ways to get greenlights earlier
