Since the article is about George Prescott Bush, the son of Jeb, it was actually big Uncle George who spoiled it for him.

It's fine, your comment was surprisingly on point for it being about the wrong person ;)

Ah...one of the "little brown ones" is all grown up.

"He's the right age, he connects well with people,.."

Nah, he's merely well-connected.

"...access to his grandmother Barbara Bush's legendary donor card list."

See??

I'm positive they will try this.

Why don't they find someone with a less toxic name, like Herbert Hoover or James Buchanan?

I'm thinking "Bourbon", "Hohenzollern", or "Hapsburg".

"Mussolini" might be a more politically advantageous last name to have than "Bush" at this point.

Well clearly the answer is no, but that has not stopped the GOP from ignoring common sense, polling data and election results to this point.

So hey G.P.B. in 2016!

The next great white person non-brown skinned, christian psychopathic morally thoughtful, stick a pipe into a woman's vagina life loving, kill the foreigners in their own countries international law abiding, keep womens wages artificially low no-war on women waging, jail everyone who doesnt look like us conservator of family values who will benefit all of us whitey, college frat boy style dudes

I'm not convinced that was deliberate. They probably just accidentally left him outside over night and he started to rust.

If he actually does anything between now and then, he might be interesting for 2020 or 2024 in the presidential race. Or he might end up being humiliated as his Democratic opponent finally takes Texas.

I sure hope he does. I don't like having to learn stuff about candidates, like their record or stance on issues. I'd rather just be able to vote for someone based on their name. Kinda like a royal monarchy, but better, because I voted for it.

I'd love to see another bush in there. it would be more fun watching him get that as* kicked in 2016.

2012-11-11 01:25:42 PM
I was in high school when I heard this, and I'm not sure how accurate the information is but I seem to remember there was a poll conducted in like 1998 asking republicans who should run for president and George W. Bush was at the top of the list. What made this little factoid stick out for me was that people in the poll thought they were selecting George H. W. Bush instead.

Surely one of the party's other rising stars would be more credible. I'm thinking Linda McMahon, Allen West, Joe Walsh...

George W Bush did very well among Hispanics in 2000, and only slightly less well in 2004.

The GOP's core message of low taxes, less regulation, and social conservatism rings well with many of them.

FirstNationalBastard: Why don't they find someone with a less toxic name, like Herbert Hoover or James Buchanan?

Oddly enough, Hoover was the person that made sure Europe didn't starve after WW2. One of the reasons the dam was renamed for him.

I'll put Hoover in the "Crappy president, good ex-president" column.

George Bush was the only candidate to survive the GOP wars. Now all republican candidates are George Bush.

Only because of his love of tacos. That game plan didn't work so well for the mayor of East Haven, CT.

Yep. The only way for Republicans to win again is with a Latino. And most would have an extremely difficult time getting through a teabagger primary. But Bush has the big money connections to make it happen.
