Has everyone forgotten that you can buy gas cans (and should probably already own a couple)? I would never put a poisonous substance in something that is supposed to hold food O.o

Also my research for this comment just proved that that episode of the X-files I watched last night was bullshiat.

The state finally realizes that laws against price gouging, while popular, actually encourage hoarding instead of rationing by price and a quick end to shortages as companies and entrepreneurs race to replenish supplies while they can still make a lot of money?

It could have been the fire, or they could have used it as soy sauce.

Gas cans are extremely scarce around here. Yes, you should already own a couple, but if you don't (or if, say, you want to hoard gas because of the rationing), you can't buy a gas can within a 50-mile radius. Trust me, I tried to get one for my generator (I own two 2-gallon cans but wanted to get a 7-gallon one). So there are quite a few reports of people putting gasoline in unauthorized containers, though this is the first time I heard of one starting a fire.

So did they eat them or assist them? It makes no sense to first give them aid, and then eat them. I mean why bother giving them help if your just going to eat the victim?

AcneVulgaris: Dumbass - sushi is supposed to be RAW.

Actually, no. The word sushi refers to the combination of the rice and ingredients. Which of course can be raw, or cooked.

Damn it now I have to go give Wegmans more money I can't afford, since this discussion is making me hungry.

They never do. When a simple mental exercise busts a simplistic idea, you need to go back to the drawing board. Yet they don't. They keep insisting that they be allowed to enact the same flawed plans every time.

Super Chronic: Gas cans are extremely scarce around here.

Well they are now. Before this, there were a lot of people telling the Mid-Atlantic residents to get some gas beforehand and some means to store more. I really really wish they'd have listened.

That's a real Darwin moment.

Gas isn't scarce, it's just difficult to get. It's not going to "go up in value" or be impossible to get tomorrow. You can't tell that to stupid people.

What was his great plan for getting the gas out of the buckets and into the car? The idiot would have probably just dumped it in a couple of weeks when he tried filling up something and got gas everywhere instead.

I'd also like people to realize that gasoline has a finite life. It goes bad after a couple of moths. It can soften certain plastics as well.

Uhhhh... difficulty to get is part of scarcity.

Two things i don't understand here. First, why would you keep gas for your car....in your business? Most people just fill up. Why would you store gas for your vehicle? Second, why would you keep gasoline in open buckets? Seriously, who would be that retarded? Sound's like this guy needs some mental health therapy, or just a good old fashioned ass kicking for being a lazy idiot.

What can I tell you - by the Saturday before the storm hit, there was no chance of buying a gas can anywhere near here. Or a flashlight.

I thought you could still get all you want, just not every day and not as conveniently. I guess I'm just trying to make a distinction between not being able to get it because it is unavailable and having to be inconvenient in acquiring it.

Not really. I was expecting the gasoline to be mistaken as soy sauce.

Also, this story goes to show the folly of expecting your dishwasher to do anything apart from cleaning pans, and even that is iffy.

Politicians have to pander to stupid, selfish people to get re-elected. Having informed opinions is free of negative consequences for most other people, so I'm having trouble imagining what your excuse might be.
