Most of McDonald's customers are dead of heart disease and/or complications from obesity?

Somethin ain't right about a McDonalds poop. The smell, the feel... it's not natural. Like a doll's poop.
And them farts, they haunt ya, stink up your soul.

A few hundred million for a new slogan and media saturation should cover it.

It's because I stopped going. Sorry shareholders. Why yes, I do feel much better now, thanks for asking.

when healthy and active people do a mcd binge you get this. the avg mcd'ers stomach and bowel gets a thawed burger patty that was sitting out for 3 hours and tossed on a greasy grill and then boxed in a cardboard box under a heatlamp and thinks this must be monday.

I honestly haven't had Micky D's in over a year. It was my New Year's resolution to give up fast food. I don't think I could handle a patty now, even if I craved one.

The only thing I miss is the mac sauce, but I'm pretty sure they still sell Thousand Island dressing at the supermarket...

Wonder if this is related to their new menus actually listing the calorie counts for everything.

Ain't gonna lie, I eat fast food several times per week. I tend to go for items that are sub-500 calories and $3 or less. One day I rolled up to a McD's for a light snack, and figured I'd try their chicken wraps. Took one look at the board and said "Nope." I already knew the calorie count of their more traditional items, and didn't want upwards of 400 calories that day. Just a nice little 200 calorie snack item would have been nice. The "lightest" of the options for their TINY wraps was 300 calories.

Christ, I could get the same number of calories and same amount of nutrition from a candy bar.

/decided not to eat that day until dinner
//still get the occasional McDouble

300-500 calories is not an unreasonable amount for your lunch. Are you on a sub-1500 calorie diet plan?

If I go to McDonald's I tend to get a large iced tea and a double cheeseburger. 440 calories and it costs me 2 bucks and 50 cents.

The (crispy) chicken one is OK. The beef one is farking awful. At least the onions are (apparently) real...

/ used a promo coupon, so I didn't feel too ripped off.
// live within walking distance to a McDonalds...I eat there far too often

Talking about competitors, I do like the Red Burrito outlets they have in some Hardees stores.
Naturally the Hardees restaurant close to the house doesn't have it....

I had one last week (a week ago today in fact). I liked it well enough I guess, I mean it is McDonalds food, so I don't set the bar very high when trying something new. I'd buy it again though.

/Sorry McDs, we just don't go there as often as we used to
//I'm OK with that

The large sugar-free vanilla iced coffee has like 270 calories. What the hell are they adding to it? A glass of whole milk the same volume has the same amount of calories

My unqualified opinion on why McDonald's is seeing reduced sales:

People want to feel good about their food purchases; it's the (not so) new thing. Places like Chipotle and Panera advertise their humanely raised, natural meat. McDonald's only recent positive change to their beef has been discontinuing the use of "pink slime" filler. And who the hell knows what's actually in a McNugget?

McD's prices have been steadily rising and they aren't the cheapest option anymore. In DC, a Big Mac meal is now over $6, the Angus meals are about $8, and the $1 value menu is down to three or so items. Compare that to a $4.50 Potbelly sandwich, or a more "upscale" $8.50 Chipotle burrito bowl.

Still love them fries though. Mmmm...

CSB Alert:
My wife and I pushed ourselves hard to have a dietary lifestyle change. We're about 50% vegetables now. Our food bill has gone up about the same, but we're losing weight with regularity. Each down about 2 stone. Still a long way to go, but McDonalds isn't profiting from us much anymore.

/dieting is really hard. And I'm hungry... a lot.
//end CSB

Eat high fiber, it takes your body longer to break it down thus you feel fuller longer.

Great advice, my sister drinks a glass with Metamucil 30 minutes before lunch and dinner to fill her up. Also watch out for certain vegetables, sweet corn and potatoes actually can spike your hunger due to the starches and sugars, carrots also have a lot sugar but also a lot of nutrients, I wouldn't cut them out completely but be wary of how many you are eating and stay away from baby carrots. I can't personally say I have tried it but several friends of mine swear by the south beach diet book and have lost a lot of weight and seem to keep it off as long as they don't stray back into bad food territoriality.
