DrPainMD: Coco LaFemme: No.......no, it's not. I wouldn't pay $813 to see any artist live, much less The Rolling Stones. I wouldn't pay $813 to see The Rolling Stones circa 1966. The problem is, they know people will pay it, so they have no qualms about pricing tickets that high. They're fleecing people, and people don't mind being fleeced.

I don't know which part of that worse.

The worst part is that you don't understand the definition of "fleece." The buyer knows the price up front and agrees to pay it; nobody's getting fleeced.

World English Dictionary
fleece (fliːs)

- n
1. the coat of wool that covers the body of a sheep or similar animal and consists of a mass of crinkly hairs
2. the wool removed from a single sheep
3. something resembling a fleece in texture or warmth
4. sheepskin or a fabric with soft pile, used as a lining for coats, etc
5. a warm polyester fabric with a brushed nap, used for outdoor garments
6. a jacket or top made from such a fabric

- vb
7. to defraud or charge exorbitantly; swindle
8. another term for shear

[Old English flēos ; related to Middle High German vlius , Dutch vlies fleece, Latin plūma feather, down]

I'd consider $813 for a concert ticket to be "exorbitant." Now please, tell me again what the worst part is.

empchang: Roto-Rot: They're legendary and will be dead soon, so as a nostalgia act they can charge whatever the hell they want to and people will pay. Imagine the prices if what's left of Pink Floyd got together and toured. The aging hippies have disposable income.

I would probably pay $813 to see Bad Brains.

You can see Bad Brains for around $25. They still play shows occasionally.

Oh I see that had already been covered

If people are rich, desperate and dumb enough to pay that, so it goes.

I got an email for Megadeth. Cheapest ticket was $87 not counting fees. I'm a huge fan, but come on.Most concerts only last an hour and a half.

I wouldn't go lest I fell into a rage if he started talking politics at the concert.

If people are willing to pay it; then it's fair.

*I'm* not. I think it's ridiculous. But to each his own.

If I decided to pay $800 for a show, it would have to come with backstage passes, food/booze, hanging out with the band at the after show and some exclusive swag.

Even then I'm not paying $800.

Saw them a few years ago, for the 20th anniversary for Rust in Peace, for free and had backstage passes. My buddy owns David's bass he used to record Peace Sells... My friend loaned it to the Rock N Roll HoF and as a thank you for that my friend and I were Davids guests for the show
