This is just getting sad.

Someone needs to hold him down and fire a live round into the ground near his head...and miss.

waiting for me horrible gop rep to concede here as well. Like West, he just can't get over the fact that he's actually lost. I've voted for his opponent 3 times and that last one finally stuck.

brianbankerus: Dimensio: According to the linked blog, Mr. West has actually won his re-election bid following completion of a recount. However, the most recent news that I have found from any official source -- which postdates the linked blog's story by several hours -- claims only that a "partial recount" has been ordered.

Is the linked blog's claim based upon any actual fact, or is it a misrepresentation?

You misread the headline. He won [the right to] a [partial] recount... he didn't win the recount, it hasn't happened yet.

He was referring to the first line of the "article" (and I use the term as loosely as possible:
"Florida congressman Allen West has won his re-election bid by a narrow enough margin to prompt a full recount"

Somehow, in 121 words they managed to be more confusing than essay length stuff on World Nut Daily or any other nutter blogs. Not a single sentence in the "thing" makes sense.

Bucky Katt: antidisestablishmentarianism: When someone uses Democrat when they should be using Democratic, you can dismiss anything else they have to say.

Not all people who are grammatically challenged are teabaggers stupid

Improperly using the noun 'democrat' instead of the adjective 'democratic' is not an accidental grammatical error. It's an intentional slur. It's meant to be derogatory. It's slang meant to be offensive. And not always, but more often than not, the user either is a teabagger or supports teabagger positions.

MFAWG: Clutch2013: alowishus: Dafatone: Jim_Callahan: antidisestablishmentarianism: When someone uses Democrat when they should be using Democratic, you can dismiss anything else they have to say.

Why? It's a bit silly grammatically, but the part of speech on Democratic isn't quite right for a title either, more a remnant of the party being called Democratic Republican back in the 1800s. It's also rather absurdly general, as both parties are democratic (and republican, for that matter, were you to use the adjective use of that word instead of the noun).

Not that "the Grand Old Party" is any less silly, but at least it's an actual name instead of a generic adjective regarding the system of government for the entire first world.

No idea why. None at all. But the rule applies. Any time someone says "Democrat Party" they're raging right-wing assholes. Again. No clue why. You're right, it shouldn't mean anything. But it always does.

That's an entirely new level of batshiat nuts.

Go fark yourself.

WinoRhino: Even the banner ads on that page are nuts. The one I see reads: "FREE Video Reveals 'Weird' Trick To Slash Your Power Bill & Beat Obama's Electricity Monopoly For Good"

Obama has an electricity monopoly?

"Obama" is not an actual person, to these sort of minds. To them, "Obama" is the equivalent of "sauron" - an earthly embodiment of evil itself. He (it) is behind evrything bad that happens - they all result from the wicked influence of "Obama" in their world.
When their redneck town raises their taxes so their worthless cops can have an armored troop carrier and a bunch of machine guns, it's "Obama".
When their skinflint boss fires them so he can move their job to China, it's "Obama".
When the school that they insist teach Bible instead of science also (just coincicentally, of course) fails to teach their kids basic intellectual skills, that's "Obama" too.
He is what they blame for all the stupid tings they do to themselves, and allow their rich masters to do to them.
He is the Devil.

No, its the official legal name and title of the party--end of story. All else is dildo bullshiat. Its not named the Republic Party, its the Republican Party. Its not the Greenish Party--its the Green Party. Its not the Constitutional Party, its the Constitution Party. Its not the Liberty Party, its the Libertarian Party. Its not the Democrat Party, its the Democratic Party. Use common sense. Don't be F'in stupid.

Dude, you inspired me! From now on, anytime someone says Democrat Party to me, I'm going to immediately say "Yeah, but the Republic party..." and watch them short a fuse... what, was that not right?

I'm not sure that'd work - in fact - I think they'd like that. They're always quick to point out that "We're a republic, not a democracy!" If you wanna' get under their skin, a better name might be the rapeublican party - as others on this site have already called them.

Loaded Six String: bugontherug: Loaded Six String: Does this apply to socially liberal, fiscal conservatives in your experience as well? I only ask because I don't use the term Democratic party, yet I'm not a raging right-wing asshole. Could just be me I suppose.

1) you are gramatically incorrect if you use the phrase "Democrat Party." Not because of anything to do with whether it's an adjective or whatever. But because it's a proper name. The proper name is the Democratic Party.

2) the phrase became popular on the right for the "rat" emphasis. With that in mind, you should be aware when you say it that not only are you gramatically wrong, but you are using a term conceived to be insulting.

3) so, now you know the grammar and history of this epithet and if you continue to use it, then yes, you are a right-wing asshole.

I attribute it to vocal laziness I suppose, though I must admit I have been a bit curious as of late as to why one political party named itself to promote democracy, whereas the other named itself to promote a republic (correct?). Just seems a bit odd to me. Thank you for the history lesson, but I want to point out that by using this incredibly slight terminology faux pas to pigeon hole me into a group of the "others" to make it easier for you to deride me is intellectually lazy. If you wish to heap scorn on someone (whether it was directed at me personally or just a generalization) you should probably find something with a bit more meat to it, especially when your derision is based on a supposition of their political views (in which case, you're way off base with me. Again, if it was directed at me personally, kind of hard for me to tell.)

Karl Rove is on record saying that using "The Democrat Party" rather than "The Democratic Party" is one way he used to discredit and demean the Democrats. If you use this term, you are buying into that political asswit's slur. If you do that, people will continue to assume you're a Republican or at the least one that gets his information only from Fox News.

Is that Ben Franklin's brother?

In the '08 campaign, Republican Sen. Norm Coleman was running for re-election against Democrat Al Franken. It was impossibly close; on the morning after the election, after 2.9 million people had voted, Coleman led Franken by 725 votes.

Franken and his Democratic allies dispatched an army of lawyers to challenge the results. After the first canvass, Coleman's lead was down to 206 votes. That was followed by months of wrangling and litigation. In the end, Franken was declared the winner by 312 votes. He was sworn into office in July 2009, eight months after the election.

During the controversy a conservative group called Minnesota Majority began to look into claims of voter fraud. Comparing criminal records with voting rolls, the group identified 1,099 felons -- all ineligible to vote -- who had voted in the Franken-Coleman race.

Minnesota Majority took the information to prosecutors across the state, many of whom showed no interest in pursuing it. But Minnesota law requires authorities to investigate such leads. And so far, Fund and von Spakovsky report, 177 people have been convicted -- not just accused, but convicted -- of voting fraudulently in the Senate race.

Dr.Mxyzptlk.: During the controversy a conservative group called Minnesota Majority began to look into claims of voter fraud. Comparing criminal records with voting rolls, the group identified 1,099 felons -- all ineligible to vote -- who had voted in the Franken-Coleman race.

Those numbers have been inflated, try 180 investigated and 28 had charges brought against them.

Al Franken Hype

Also, what does this really have to do with Al Franken? Voting is anonymous, they could be mostly Coleman supporters for all we know (probably a mixture of both), and it doesn't matter anyway since none of this was organized by either campaign. The reason why felons voted probably stems from not even knowing that their voting rights were taken away. Honestly, I think every citizen should have the right to vote anyway, criminal record or not.

On another note, even if Minnesota Majority's report was accurate which it's not, it doesn't boost their case for voter ID which they've been pushing. Ex-cons don't have a special ID which separates them from anyone else, they could just as well as have voted whether voter ID laws were implemented or not.
