Subby here....

My son, Jamie, is HFA (High-Functioning Autism), and was diagnosed @ age 3 as 'severely' autistic. At the time, we were told that he wouldn't go to school, wouldn't ride a bike, woudn't hold normal conversations, yadda, yadda, yadda. Well, at 17, he's turned out to be quite the amazing young man. He's a junior in HS, a straight-A student, not only rides a bike, but also drives (better than his mother). He's completed 3 century (100-mile+) bike rides, and is about the most social kid you'll run in to. He's a Life Scout, working on his Eagle project, which is to raise awareness, collect supplies and raise donations for the Homeless Animals Rescue Team (HART) , a 501 (c) (3) no-kill animal rescue / support group. Jamie's been the one who's picked out all our current rescues (two cats and a dog), and he wants to give back by helping HART.

This is Jamie:

Jamie's also doing a local supply drive for HART to gather dog/cat food, cat litter and other supplies on their wish list, but I also wanted to reach out to FARK to challenge them to help, too. There are lots of deserving organizations out there, and some needs are urgent, like the response to Hurricane Sandy's effects, but if you'd like to help, please consider donating to HART.

Donations go to support fostering and finding permanent homes for dogs and cats like with HART that are looking for homes - HART's latest arrivals:

If you donate, thank you very much - make sure that you tag the donation as 'Jamie Eagle Project' in the 'name' (JustGive.org) or 'instructions for HART (PayPal), so we can see how much of a difference FARK can make. As a final push for this effort, I'll match all donations, dollar for dollar, up to a total of $1000. I think this campaign is at least as noble as "Give Joe the Bird", which has raised over $15,000. Even if you can't donate, thanks for taking the time to read this post.

Well.....looks like Preview wasn't working, so I took a chance and posted. My HTML stinks. The links work.....but the name is HART, not HARTa> like it shows up in that post.

Apologies abound....but my offer still stands. I'll dollar match all donations to HART up to a total of $1K. Thanks for reading, and for your support.

I totally missed the bit about attributing it to the Jamie Eagle Project but I donated a bit:

Thanks! No need to post the proof (although it's appreciated, especially if it encourages others to contribute). HART is not so big that we can't figure out what donations come from Farkers.....

BTW, thanks to the Modmin who fixed my glaring HTML errors. Much appreciated!

You rule as a parent. I was recently laid off but will find a way to help.
