apoptotic: Murphy currently leads West 50.39% to 49.61%

Allen West is a terrible person, but I can't blame him for wanting a recount in a race this close. Of course, if it were me, I'd wait until they were actually done counting before making a scene.

I can blame him: the law clearl says the limit hasn't been reached. He's opposed to judges legislating from the bench until he wants one to do it for him.

brigid_fitch: How is this even allowed? Regular citizens can just loom over vote-counters whenever they feel like it?

This picture was taken during the Florida recount in 2000.

FTA: However, unless the court orders a recount, Murphy's lead is currently outside the legally mandate level for a recount. An election must finish within a half-point to go to a state-mandate recount.

buh-bye, war criminal. but don't worry; i'm sure you'll have your own talk show on fox soon.

Gotta admit, where Obama winning was, "good, but so obvious and expected by everyone that I'm bored just thinking about it", West losing his seat is much more... awesome and cheer-worthy. Sort of a bonus round for the folks that actually pay attention to politics and place some value on actual integrity in our public officials.

So how long does it take for that idiot 49% to see how this person really is?

Again I am aghast anyone votes for a person like Allen West regardless of party. Low information voters indeed.

Phoenix_M: There were several stories yesterday that they were still counting the initial votes and West was ahead by about 300 votes.

That was in one county in his district. Not the district as a whole.

But he was assured by Fox News that his seat was safe! Surely Fox News is more trustworthy than those criminally negligent election officials!
