To be fair to the sailors on that particular boat; if I were one of them you can be certain I'd have a prepared instruction to my broker to go all "Sell, Mortimer, Sell" the very microsecond my lock-out period ended.

Anyone been watching Groupon? Now there is some jumpin', and not just insider rats. The entire market is using it for a bouncy house.

Hey, if I had 20 million shares of one web company and nothing else, I'd diversify just as soon as I could.

Selling ~1% of holding isn't exactly "jumping ship"

Nothing unusual about it. Typical strategy is to sell a certain percentage of shares during every open selling period regardless of stock price. That way you are seen as not giving away any information that could positively or negatively impact the stock price.

/not that people won't freak out about it anyways

Did you see the episode of Million Dollar Matchmaker with the Groupon millionaire?

Any chick that married him is now probably supporting his azz.

Its so wonderful that someone sold half of one percent of what she owns in the company?

Why do you hate facebook? Did your crush not accept your friend request or something? Its a great tool for humans to interact with.

I'm more interested in the fact that she is only aboard for 4 months and has over 20 million shares. Is my math totally off, or does that mean she got a signing bonus or whatever you call it for 400 million?

TFA says she joined the board in June, but doesn't mention if she was an employee previous to that. But, yeah. Nice package either way.

It also mentions she sold around 300k the previous week. This month was a good month, she didn't even have to use her AK.
