lol. that's hilarious. next he'll be for gay marriage and pro choice.

So after spending so many years complaining something like this was only an effort by the Democrats to get Latinos to vote for them, Hannity is... supporting something like this in order to get Latino votes.

lololol

"Hey, Hispanics. I know we've had a rough patch in the past few years, with us talkin' about how we'd like to deport you and all. But, we've had a change of heart. We think you're cool now. We Bros? Cool. Oh, and, I don't suppose you'd vote Republican next election?"

2012-11-09 08:57:29 AM
It's kind of insulting that Republicans think that just switching course on one issue is enough to bring Hispanics into the fold. As if they'll forget everything that happened in Arizona and Alabama and Georgia in the last 2 years.

"Sorry we've been calling you lazy sub-human deadbeats who are ruining America for the last 20 years, but we need your votes, so we'll allow you to live."

Especially since he basically only wants a one time amnesty with increased border enforcement.

Sorry for all the bigotry over the past few decades. You do know we like Santa Maria and hate maricons too, right hermano?

2012-11-09 12:15:45 PM
It's a pretty simple issue, really. We need to make a decision, either we want them here or we don't. If we don't want them here, we can double down on enforcement and get the bulk of them out, BUT there WILL be economic consequences and they will not be small. If we DO want them here, it only make sense to get them some legal status, citizenship or guest worker, so that they are more able to function in society, get drivers licenses, loans, etc.

Evolving in three days, impressive. At this rate he'll be an unrecognizable new species before Thanksgiving.

Let's just say what really happened.

Hannity: "...And they keep letting those wetbacks come over the border and let's be honest--"
Roger Ailes: "You don't need to see their identification."
Hannity: "I don't need to see their identification."
Roger Ailes: "These aren't the illegal immigrants you're looking for."
Hannity: "These aren't the illegal immigrants we should be going after."
Roger Ailes: "They can go about their business."
Hannity: "They can go about their business."
Roger Ailes: "Move along."
Hannity: "Next subject on the Hannity Show - does Obama represent Muslim evil or Christian evil? I'll get your thoughts after this commercial on Viagra."

Typical.

The battered wife comes to her senses and has had enough. The wife beater realizes he's gone too far. "I only beat you because I love you, honey. If you would just do what I say I wouldn't have to do these things to you."

Should be interesting to see just how much "conservatives" actually do have their opinions dictated to them by these talk-show types.

Will they all change their "strongly held" positions to follow their leader, or will they lynch him for it?

They'll fall in line, but the week or two before it all comes together promises lots of entertainment for the rest of us.

The Religious Right/Deep South wing of the GOP isn't going to like this. Why? Because the white people party can't allow brown people to be their equal. The wing comprised the 'money people'? They won't have a problem with this. The moderates won't, either. It's gonna get interesting.

"I think this election is:

liberals and GOP elites Vs Conservatives and tea party

GOP elites are rather willing to oust tea party."

Remember when the Tea Party was about not bailing out the banks, and that was it? Yeah. That lasted for about a week.

I'm glad that the conservative pundits are finally seeing that their party is doomed unless they stop being so goddamn xenophobic. And as an added bonus, this will drive out a lot of nutjobs from their party. So really, it's a win/win for them.

2012-11-09 02:17:14 PM
You've spent decades telling your base that brown people are destroying America, leaching off of our social services, committing all of our crimes, and stealing all of our jobs. And now you're going to tell them that was all bullshiat?

I imagine this will go over as well as when they found out you were lying to them about Romney's election chances.

2012-11-09 02:37:29 PM
Remember folks, as O'reilly has shown us, its not racist if we refer to white people as "traditional America/cans".

I'm not sure that they will at this point. The right wing spin machine has run out of other people to attack. Deprived of red meat they are resorting to cannibalism.

HRTFA yet, disingenuous?

Fox News' Sean Hannity told his radio listeners Thursday that he's "evolved" on immigration and thinks undocumented immigrants without criminal records should have a "pathway to citizenship."

Disingenuous.

Fox News' Sean Hannity told his radio listeners Thursday that he's "evolved" on immigration and thinks undocumented immigrants without criminal records should have a "pathway to citizenship."

yeah, I heard him blather about this last night when I was driving about town. Hannity also seems to believe that Obama ran a 'dirty campaign' and slandered Romney. Of course, he didn't say just what the slander was, nor did he give any examples of said 'dirty campaign tricks'. there was also a line or two in there about 'well the Democrats won but they shouldn't feel proud about it 'cause they're immoral bastards'.

I think there's a serious problem within the inner circle of the GOP. they know they've got to change if they want to stay in the game for 2014. they KNOW it...they need to shift their policies. But...their base is rabidly insane about key issues like gay marriage, abortion and illegal immigration. they've trained their people to hate compromise, to fear the xenos and purge the heretic. But if they don't change...they'll fail next election cycle and hand Obama a majority in both houses of congress AND possibly give him an opportunity to shift the balance of SCOTUS.

quite a difficult position for the GOP to be in: they have to change but their party hates/fears change. I have no idea how they're gonna get outta this one but it'll be fun to watch.

The only way they can change is to publicly adopt the positions that Obama has laid out. They are doomed.

what might save them is the complete and utter ignorance of their voter base. seriously - how many GOP rank and file have you met that actually knew and understood the GOP's policies AND could explain them in sentences of more than 5 words? damn few is how many i've met. most GOP types chant bumper sticker slogans, wave the flag and think Obama is a muslin (this is my neighbor's view - I didn't have the heart to point out the difference between 'Muslim and 'muslin').

In fairness, I always think people (anyone) using the word "evolving" in such context as disingenuous. But feel free to lump a shiatton of different people in with your own assessment.

They cant be too obtuse or their message wont reach the people they are trying to attract. And while, I agree, the GOP base does seem exceptionally derpy their are plenty of "low information" Dems as well.
