Wow. I made it a few entries down the list and noticed that the author has no farking clue what he's talking about. Another young, hipster doofus.

Carry on.

This list is absolutely awful. Author doesn't seem to understand what underrated/overrated means. He said Batman Begins is underrated? Umm... no. It was an excellent movie and it was called an excellent movie.

Fixed that for the idiot writer.

Fixed the fix.

Star Wars happens in the past (A long long time ago). Therefore, can not be Sci-Fi.

That statement is completely untrue and makes me question your sci-fi chops.

Any list that suggests that Star Wars IV: A New Hope is a sequel automatically fails. Oh TECHNICALLY it's right, but fark that list anyway.

While I agree with some of the choices, the author is clearly trying to distinguish himself by "going against the great unwashed".

I bet I've never heard of any of the bands he listens to.

wiwille: Animal House is overrated. Granted I first saw it a few months ago and didn't laugh once. It may have been hilarious at the time, but it didn't age well.

Run Lola Run is underrated?

You mean to say that you've laughed at all the jokes ripped straight from Animal House for years but were puzzled when you saw where they all came from?

Josie And The Pussycats failed because it made fun of most of America. It's a brilliant satire with tons of eye candy. The whole intro with DuJour proves Seth Greens comedy chops and the movie only gets funnier as it goes.

And, well, shiat, who am I kidding: Rachel Leigh Cook, Rosario Dawson and Tara Reid in her prime? Instant classic!

Wulfman: wiredroach: ...calling Dr. Strangelove and 2001 overrated in any context is idiocy.

I actually made it as far down his list as 2001. Then I realized that the author doesn't just have bad opinions... he has a failure of comprehension that is much grander than that. As Pauli said, it's not even wrong.

The Dr. Strangelove line make me facepalm, but even the notion of comparing 2001 to Serenity is over the top ridiculous. One is a groundbreaking actual hard science fiction film, and the other is a slightly above average "sci-fi" space western action adventure film.

Some of the authors pics seem rational enough that I don't think he's completely trolling.

I'll go on record and say that Moulin Rouge! is the single most overrated movie of *all time*.

It winning Oscar© noms was the equivalent of diarrhea winning culinary awards. That movie is unwatchable.

Hey Subby, I really like Josie and the Pussycats for a fun popcorn movie (with a decent soundtrack).

The whole boy-band parody with Seth Green, Breckin Meyer, etc. was hilarious.

Bonus trivia: Josie's singing was voiced by Kay Hanley, of Letters to Cleo fame, though I think the rest of the "band" music was provided by Powder.

THIS.

Let's take fiction involving science.

Ok, science suggests there could be alternate demensions, multiuple galaxies out there. Science also suggests/proves/whatever evolution is the way that species come into being.

So it is then possible that in a galaxy far, far away the evolution of the the different worlds and speicies that populate happened at a different pace then ours.

Or:

LMAO! Sci-fi only ='s future? L.M.F.A.O.

/now if you don;t want to call it sci-fi and want to call it fantasy, have at it

flaminio: cfreak: FTA: 7. Cold war movie: Dr. Stangelove | Red Dawn

What? They're two entirely different kinds of movies and we're comparing them because they are both about the Cold War?? Not only that but two different decades of the Cold War!

If we want to play the author's game, he should have picked "Fail-Safe" for the underrated. Not that I think Strangelove is overrated in anyway, but few people have seen Fail-Safe, and more should.

Didn't age well? It was about a college in the 60s and was made in the 70s. There are no real special effects. Most of the humor is either sophomoric or slapstick. There's nothing highbrow at all about that movie. What's in there that "didn't age well"?

Tax Boy: KatjaMouse: Moulin Rouge

Is there a shot in that movie that lasts more than 2 seconds? It near gave me a seizure.

The opening of the movie, ie., the first 20 minutes, was all rapid cut. I appreciate the style because it was in the perspective of Christian who threw himself in this world and experienced sensory overload. As the movie progresses and he roots himself in the setting and with the characters there are longer takes. There's only one worth while scene, though, in the whole thing. Yup... Tango De Roxanne.
