I hesitate to include these two together simply because the criminally overhyped John Belushi shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as comic genius Jeremy Piven.

13. Horror film: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre | 28 Days Later

TCM didn't age well but it was pretty innovative for the time. 28 Days Later was yet another zombie movie. Sorry, "infected". It's a farking zombie movie.

Looks like a movie that could defnietly benefit from the "Charmed/Burlesque" treatment.

33. Musical: A Chorus Line | Moulin Rouge

Ok, stop right there. I like Moulin Rouge in bits and pieces. However, simply calling it a flawed movie would be an understatement.

A better matching would be something like My Fair Lady | Gigi
Or pit A Chorus Line up against All That Jazz. Compare movies that make sense, goddammit!

Also, I have to agree that Strictly Ballroom is criminally underrated. Just an over the top stylized underdog movie applied to the cut throat world of ballroom dance and doesn't take itself nearly as seriously as you think that description would.

Any list that suggests that Star Wars IV: A New Hope is a sequel automatically fails. Oh TECHNICALLY it's right, but fark that list anyway.

No way, Jules is much hotter and blondes aren't usually my thing. Maybe it's a the crush I had on Alicia Silverstone when I was younger and they're doppelgangers of each other.

Egoy3k: an honorable mention for Planet Terror (I think that's the name of it)

Rodriguez embraced all the potential batsh*ttary that can be put in a zombie flick. That's why it works.

...and Caddyshack is as funny as I remember. Some of it's a little cheesy but a comedy of that type only needs a few great scenes and it has them. Most comedies peeter out when they start to get to the main plot. Office Space kind of ran out of gas when they actually pulled the heist, Caddyshack when they got to the tournament, the Big Lebowski when they got deeper into the kidnapping and started adding increasingly odd characters but they're all funny movies. The party in PCU was funny but a lot of the rest of it was filler.

As an FX guy I also appreciated some of the more subtle use of CG. Some of it wasn't subtle but for example the wounds they had, used conventional make-up with CG to make deeper holes in their flesh and Sayid's head blowing off when he was talking in mid sentence. The scratchy film effect made the CG even more convincing.

Egoy3k: Yeah and on top of all of it I loved that he used modern effects but then overlayed the whole movie to make it look like old 35mm film. In that context it makes the gore and zombies look so much more authentic since the effects used wouldn't be available in the era that it looks like it was shot in.

Oh, you stole my thunder with that post. I spent too much time looking at pics of Rose McGowan when I was writing mine. But well said.
