Eh, I'd rather have two distinct parties, that way we can choose between those two that we want. Unless we get rid of primary season, then it'll work.

We need a modern day William F. Buckley Jr. to tell the Bircher Society to sit down and shut the fark up. But I don't see anyone with enough clout to pull that off with out the morons screaming treason.

Considering that Boehner, the most powerful republican in the House where the derpers all reside, is having issues both in summer 2011 and now to keep them in line and try to work something out with this fiscal cliff nonsense, I'm inclined to agree with you

Eric Cantor is the most powerful republican in the House.

Think he's working to take over as Speaker?

I think it's possible. He might just like being the power behind the throne, but the way he kept publicly knifing Boehner during the debt ceiling negotiations last year did seem to show some ambitions in that direction.

weave: if they want to shut gays out of church, so what?

That's really not my point. My point is that such a stance is not moral, or at least not ethical.

Why hasn't he concluded that God has forsaken him? These farkers seem to think that they can be farktards because if God didn't want it he wouldn't let them....why not the reverse? Or is it just the gays and the women folk who receive God's wrath?

But the Bible says......

Oh never mind.

Actually the Bible just talks about men doing men. I really think that God is OK with some hot lesbian loving....

Philip Francis Queeg: sammyk: Weaver95: ya know, it really HAS been a crappy week for the GOP - not only did '1000 years of darkness' President Obama get re-elected but gay marriage was approved/cannabis legalization progressed further across the nation. not to mention many key congressional races around the nation were lost. the GOP was solidly rejected at local/state and federal levels.

So I can see why Koster feels hurt and abandoned.

I don't think it has really sunk in for the left or right just how badly things went for the GOP. There is the obvious stuff like ACA is here to stay and DOMA will go undefended and eventually be struck down. We also saw hard core social conservatives lose to democrats in easily winnable districts for republicans. That tells me the abortion issue is running out of gas. Roughly 1/4 of the house teaparty freshmen were sent home, many losing to dems as opposed to establishment repubs. Voter suppression efforts failed and the electorate is moving to the left so they will never work. The results of citizens united were not nearly as bad as many of us feared and the billionaires spent a lot of money and came up empty. Using gay marriage initiatives to get the fundies out is a dead issue from here on out. In fact it will only drive gay marriage supporters. Several state houses went back to democratic control and that will limit the ability of groups like ALEC to push through more BS.

I do not think the conservative agenda is dead quite yet but it is mortally wounded. That gives me hope and I appreciate the change even if it is not as fast as I would like.

The fact that the popular vote was close is masking, to an extent, the magnitude of the victory.

But here's the thing. By any objective measure, it shouldn't have been close. This year should have been a lopsided victory. For the Republicans. This year was pretty damn close to the most ideal circumstances for taking on an incumbent. Yet even under those favorable circumstance the Republicans couldn't ...

Hell, they SHOULD have taken the senate easily, even if rmoney is still the same android.

But when you cause Snowe to retire, replace farking Dick Lugar with a Tea tard, let McMahon spend millions to lose again, have berg not want to make rape exceptions for abortions, run mr "rape easy" in wisconson, tom smith comparing being raped to being a father whose daughter has a child out of wedlock, and put in akin instead of somebody sane...

well, you are a bigger fark up then farking Mr Bean

If Cantor actually ousts Boehner for the speaker when the new class comes in, I'll accept your statement as fact. Until then, Boehner is the most powerful one.
