That was odd. Not bad, just odd.

2012-11-08 11:06:44 PM
Had Mitt been forced to give the same speech, about 75.3 seconds into it, his main circuitry would have had a catastrophic compassion and empathy emulation subroutine overload, and he would have screamed and torn off the outer membrane covering his chassis, and exploded.

2012-11-08 11:18:47 PM
During parts of it I swear to god he'd just come from Colorado.

Or...Washington??

Nah. Rmoney's speech would have been "Peasants.Obeyed.Suckers!!".

the way people are talking, I was expecting Bohner-like blubbering, that was a little sniffling.

We elected an actual human being. That's good, but we dodged a bullet there.

Obama personally thanks his campaign staff (without a teleprompter).
Romney cuts their credit cards before they leave.

Congrats America! We made the right choice.

2012-11-09 07:25:48 AM
With Romney, it would have been exactly like the end of the Futurama episode. Romeny battering the faced of the White House with his robotic fists and shouting, "KNOCK KNOCK. MWAHAHAHA."

/true story

I'm guessing he was really, really tired.

After winning re-election? So at like 3 in the morning?

Just, you know. Curious.

2012-11-09 07:30:24 AM
Heartfelt speech to the people who did the brunt of the heavy lifting for him during the election.

Certainly not the crocodile tears we see from Boehner, at any rate...

I would imagine that him and Romney both are emotional rags about now. Stress, anxiety, sleep deprivation - It's a life I would never choose in a million years.

2012-11-09 07:32:02 AM
The guy teared up a bit and got a little choked telling his team how much they inspired him. That's not crying, not even a little.

2012-11-09 07:32:47 AM
I'm sure we'll hear soon that this proves that Obama has never been fit for office.

2012-11-09 07:33:05 AM
I sure hope he kills a bunch of brown people to make up for this show of weakness.

Anny speech that quotes Bobby Kennedy is pretty good in my book.

I don't why anybody feels there's anything odd about this. When I first saw it yesterday (it was circulated to supporters long before it went viral) it struck me as authentic, sincere and moving, a genuine word of thanks to people he has been very close to for many months. And I'm about as cynical and black-hearted a bastard as you're ever like to meat IRL.

Yeah, but he won't catch any breaks for it. Remember, he's still blah.

And luckily, a campaign staffer was there to record it and upload it to the Internet so everyone would marvel and gaze at dear leader crying.

What a lucky coincidence....

Yeah, I could see if we were living in some weird future world where everyone has recording devices in their pockets at all times this getting captured, but this isn't "The Jetsons", people. We live in the real world and this is an obvious scripted set up.

Hang on - you're saying that it's weird that someone filmed for posterity their boss thanking them for their many months working an often thankless, often exhausting job?

Clueless douchebags.

He's not crying; he's laughing tears of joy, knowing that he can finally enact his radical Islamo-Marxist America-destroying Crypto-Kenyan policies of devastation on an unsuspecting populace.

The last time Romney gave an honest speech, he let loose with that 47% remark.

I really like Obama. I think he seems like a genuinely good guy. I want to have beers with him and shoot the shiat.

I also want into his pants, but that's not for this thread....

It's not like they're special pants. He puts his pants on like everyone else: one leg at a time, except once they're on, he kills Bin Laden.

I don't see what was odd w/ that. It seemed genuine and heartfelt to me. He choked up a little for a moment and then regained compulsion. Don't really see what so odd about that.
