FTFA: The woman told Atlanta police the alleged harassment by Joseph Rogers Jr. lasted for nearly 10 years, from 2003 through June of this year. The Associated Press does not identify alleged victims of sexual harassment.

Lawyer David Cohen, from Atlanta, made me suck his dick in order to keep me out of jail.

If you're drunk (or drunj) a triple order of Waffle House hashbrowns chunked and covered will prevent a hangover.

You'd think a big time CEO like that could do better than some broad that works at the Waffle House.

And the home address given for Rogers in the police report matches that listed on the Federal Election Commission's website alongside donations the CEO made to unsuccessful presidential candidate Mitt Romney in June 2011 and May of this year.

More Republican rapey rape rape aqusations? Or just rubbing in the loss?

Maybe he thought she was one of the waitresses?
It's a shame but, go to a Waffle House on Monday morning and see which waitress got punched out by her boyfriend over the weekend. She will claim it;s her own fault because her boyfriend was drunk and his ex-wife was on his ass for alimony, his truck was repossessed, and she shouldn't have hassled him.
Sad, but I've heard this story........

Waffle House does have one thing going for it: unlike other -- well, I hesitate to call it a restaurant... food-service establishments, shall we say -- you can actually watch the health and safety violations occurring, so you know when not to eat your food.

Such as the Waffle House near me where you will regularly see raw meat placed on the counter, and then food that will not be cooked further (such as toast) placed on the counter in the exact same spot, without it even being cursorily wiped, let alone sanitized.

Waffle House is, frankly, disgusting. And yet I still eat there once in a blue moon. Does that make me disgusting? I guess so...

Just to play Devil's Advocate: it allegedly lasted for ten years. He is a CEO. I would imagine that there were perks for her, as I cannot imagine a job at Waffle House (at least, as a waitress) is overly generous in the compensation department. Now, maybe it was a situation of the guy threatening to ruin her life if she ever told anyone, or maybe he was her sugar daddy and was quite willing at first until he got old/unpleasant/husband found out. Could be that she tried to blackmail him, too, and when it failed then she went to a lawyer and claimed it wasn't consensual.

Or, it could be a case of a powerful man (financially, I can't imagine "CEO of Waffle House" striking awe into the hearts of people) using a woman for his own ends because he knew that he could get away with it. Maybe he threatened to make it so "she cannot work in this town again" or some other financially-related ruinous situation.

/sometimes I hate society

The Marietta Daily Journal reported that Rogers sued the woman in Cobb County Superior Court on Sept. 14, but that the documents had been sealed and both sides agreed not to speak to the news media. The newspaper added that the woman filed a lawsuit against Rogers in Fulton County State Court on Sept. 19, but documents in that case were also sealed.

Hrm.

2012-11-09 11:44:50 AM
It appears a good chunk of the information in this case has been smothered in sealed documents...if revealed, that could be a dicey situation for the CEO if testimony peppered with sexual harassment is scattered about the media...he better hope his attorney can stay on top of the deal & keep the bases covered so that testimony remains capped.

If you're ever present when they "clean" a Waffle House, you're in for a treat. They get a hose and just blast the whole kitchen down. It's impressive.

Damn it, don't let that shiat go on for ten years unless you like it. You could have documented it and proved it somehow ten years ago, gotten a nice settlement and walked away. or kick him in the nuts and call it a day. This isn't 1960.

ristst: Do waitresses actually work at Waffle House for 10 YEARS?

Yes, yes they do, Waffle House used to also pay their waitresses in cash every week, no paycheck straight cash, the reasoning behind this was so a waitress could hide money from her abusive boyfriend/husband and save it to runoff if they needed too with an instant job at a Waffle House in another state.

/Heard this story from Bert of Bert's Chili fame, he was agonizing over having Waffle House accept credit cards, and new federal requirements making it tough to pay in cash.

For everybody ragging on staying at the Awful Waffle for years, they had health benefits and retirement plans that made other medium corporations, food service or not, look like shiate. They were self-funded and administered, with no employee matches, so when a claim was filed, claim was paid promptly, with minimal interference. The sad thing was, the dental plan was extremely generous, and hardly ever used.

And this being Georgia, it is an 'at-will' employment state, so employers will try to push every boundary. If the woman was gullible enough to believe he was paying her for her ability to assist him, that's her problem. It seems to me that he was paying for her silence, rather than her administrative talents..

Yeah I mean face facts

1) She was well-compensated. Regardless of the fact that she was getting more than she could get anywhere else for comparable work--which she admitted to--he wasn't paying her enough. Honestly, this isn't totally out of foul; one of the perks of being a high executive, you make moves on your hot secretaries, you can do things like simply not haggle over time off, make sure the bonuses are fair and not squeezed down, make sure the salary is adjusted for cost-of-living plus raises, make sure complaints are seen to, etc.

Let's be honest, the working environment has now changed; any job resentment turns into resentment for the nearest in position to change it, so the job environment has to be improved as a matter of courtship--it's not simply a matter of extravagant money and bonuses, but of simply creating a decent environment, removing job stress. shiatbag CEO didn't do that; he used his power over her to threaten and generally be an asshole, which means his actions INCREASED job stress.

2) Social interactions are complex; 'no' can mean 'try later' or can mean 'stay the hell away'. I've had both happen, some girls are just like "don't ever talk to me again" and later they're like... still don't like you, but for some reason they'll engage.

Difficulty: Jerkass decided if he twisted her arm enough, "no" means "yes." While that works... as you can see, he's gonna be taking it in the ass now. She should have slapped him right off, filed suit, demanded lost wages--if she can't find a reasonable job making more, CEO personally has to make up the difference--plus punitive damage.

I've been flirted with at work. General rule is nothing on your direct team and nothing crossing direct authority boundaries. Exceptions can be invented and even cited, but general rules are general. Even beyond that, the world just isn't pretty and puritan; and the higher executive/worker scenario is basically common, everyone dreams of being a CEO with a hot secretary. Article doesn't say if this was a waitress or a secretary or what. But seriously, if your hot secretary doesn't want to screw with you, back down; a little flirting might go over, you can smile about it, maybe she'll turn her colors, either way threatening her is like... the wrong way to go about it.

Every woman likes being told she looks good today. Not every woman likes to feel like you're staring at her through your penis.

The woman told Atlanta police the alleged harassment by Joseph Rogers Jr. lasted for nearly 10 years, from 2003 through June of this year.

The police report quotes the woman as saying that Rogers tried to force her to have sex with him despite her repeated protests. She said that he also touched her breasts, tried to remove her clothes, made lewd comments, and insisted she perform sex acts on him at least once or twice a month. The woman, who identified herself as a single mother, told police she stayed in the job and endured the alleged harassment because she couldn't find other employment with comparable pay.

First, for over Ten years this chick could not find work? Second, someone touching your breast, trying to remove your clothes and trying to force you into having sex, that's either Giddy up for both parties or Rape and by the looks of it, after 10 years, it looks like she was into it.

Something aint right here.
