oh yeah the ball boy did it all on his own without any encouragement or advice from the most crooked program in NCAA right along with Penn State. Did that punter switch his jersey number on his own? Was that a rouge booster that bought Reggie Bush A FARKING HOUSE? Karma is sweet USC.

No, I'd say this is Kiffin. Again.

How is Kiffin still allowed to coach? he keeps breaking rules and gets slaps on the wrist. I'd also bench your QB because he can't tell if his balls feel deflated.

Its terrible that Kiffin is letting this kid take the fall. Hopefully the kid gets a nice "severance package" to keep his mouth shut. I certainly wouldnt have any loyalty to a program that through me under the bus

Yeah, it's a shame this kid is gonna get his college farked up for doing what the coach told him to do.

This obviously came down from Kiffin. But what's the thinking behind this? Do USC receivers really have problems catching a fully inflated football?

I played D1 and you can throw slightly deflated footballs further and they are easier to catch. Our QBs used to say that they could even throw a tighter spiral when the ball was deflated which is where I think they gain the distance. Field goal kickers/punters can also gain about 5 - 10ish yards kicking a slightly deflated ball. More teams than USC do this. I think that USC just tried to cheat a little too much....

That wins the thread.

/also, it's not difficult to believe, as someone who used to be a ballboy and made sure our team had the better footballs and opposing teams had the ones (within regulation) with very little grip despite never being told to, suggested to, or anything. Whatever helps the home team win - it's just another part of HFA.

I wonder how many other student managers will be taking the fall over stupid shiat like this is the coming years as the scholarships begin to shrink at the rate of 10 a year for the next 3-4 years.

grinding_journalist: So what you're saying is, you're getting a kick out of these replies?

Sure!

/wouldn't surprise me if Kiffin ordered it. Wouldn't surprise me if the person did it himself.
//gonna be tough for him to fire his dad - dude's defense doesn't work against spread offenses and he's not adapting.

2012-11-09 09:57:53 AM
Lane Kiffin is just a career fark-up who wouldn't have gotten anywhere without a famous dad. Let's look at his resume:
- Had has back-up QB switch jersey numbers and put him in to go for a 2-pt conversion in the middle of a 50-6 win over Pac-12 juggernaut Colorado
- Said he wouldn't vote USC preseason #1, did it anyway and lied about it, then got exposed
- Accused Urban Meyer of breaking NCAA rules, then broke the rules himself
- Told a recruit he'd end up pumping gas for a living if he went to South Carolina (probably true, but still dickish)
- Promised a win over Florida...got humiliated
- Carries the Raiders stank with him for all of eternity
- And now he has to fire his dad (who sucks at his job and never should've been hired in the first place)

Should I blast kiffin?
Should I blast USC?
Should I be serious?
Should I be humorous?

Kiffin has built his program into the fourth or fifth best team in the Pac 12 and is constantly on field cheating. That's pretty awesome.

In the report, USC said no coaches, players, staffers or administrators had any knowledge of the manager's actions

Uh huh. Of course...

"(Quarterback) Matt (Barkley) was questioned in this as well, obviously. He had no knowledge of this at all."

He didn't even notice that the ball was peculiarly easy to handle? Bullsh*t.

I have a feeling that those two pass plays for over 150 yds. and 2 TDs might have been a bit different. Without those plays, the game wouldn't have even been close.

roc6783: He/she thought it was an INT too?

Hey, I thought it was an INT too - my only argument is that there are far more egregiously incorrect calls in every single football game. It's really, really tough to determine the split second control is established, and to claim that either player controlled the ball while the other didn't is silly. Hell, if not for the other one, perhaps neither of them grab onto the ball - it went through Jennings' hands until it hit Tate's hand, after all. But when it hits Tate's hand, it would probably have gone forward and off it if not for Jennings'.
