Eli left me a mousie in the back yard behind the garage. I am very glad hubby and I were survailing the property before I mowed the lawn...that would hav been really gross! Mulched Mousie....eww! Almost as bad as Peeled Chipmunk...

Sounds like the menu at a cat cafe! :)

akimbotoo: Well, I finally made it in to say Happy Caturday! Had company that arrived Thursday evening & just now left so I am sure it may take me until tomorrow night to catch up. Oh yeah. We were taking our parrot to the bird vet to be checked out on Friday. We are all ok, but rolled the truck on the ice and ended up on my side of the truck. Usual whiplash kind of things, and of course I had to tell the EMT that I also broke a nail :) I thought it was funny thing to notice. The hard-core tough part of the story is we made it back home, hubby put the studded tires on my car and we went to the vet anyway with the parrot who only had a tiny scrape by his eye. This is why we always wear seatbelts!

Yikes! Glad you're all OK. I learned my seat belt lesson the hard way

tigerose: I was thinking about natural disasters..and kittehs...and this...

Plaintive Cry

Where are you?
You were here a few memories ago.
Now you are gone.

The wind howled so.
It hurt my ears.

Wail!

And now I cannot find you.
Our home is naught but sticks.
Surely you would not leave me here.

Meow?

Would you?

I am so alone.
I am scared.
Hide.

Silence.

Water flows.
First just my paws are
Wet.
Then the water rises.

Merow?

Why did you have to leave me here?
I thought you would be back

Soon.
Always Soon.

But you are not with me.
And I must go upstairs.

I shall go smell your bed.
It brings me comfort.
It is what I know.

Hurry home please?
I am hungry.

Sigh.

Hot.
Air that is dark.
Hard to breathe.
Whiskers singe.

Giant with
Big hands.
Gloves of terror.

Oh! He's got me!
Nooo! Do not want to leave.
Cannot smell anything, panic!
Oh, where is my person?

Bright lights,
The smell of water.
Char.

Finally a familiar voice,
A face.
Salt water flowing.
Past cheeks,
Midnight in hue.

My person.
My Comfort.

You.

Purr.

valnt9 glad you liked it. I never know if you all will see/hear the same things that I do when I am writing.

I really need to learn how to epub...I would like to put poems out there, then have people give to a charity when they download it...instead of me! :) food for thought!

Daw. I would love a hairless kitty. They're so awesome.

I got to hold a kitten once a while back that a lady brought into the store with her. It felt like...warm suede! Very odd. Hardly anyone else would touch it! Too funny...

Keep trying without sufficient speed or luck to salsa once more. Now at ft of pg 13, right under Plaintive Cry, which tugs at my heartstrings. Thoughts & feelings of altogether too many kittehs after Sandra's work.
Many many many tnx to Alien Dandelion for all the excellent pix I'm unable to resist. Forgot who said one can now get 2-TB external hard drives for under $100. Have one of those, but may not use for cats. It was bought to serve as digital storage of chorus music, of both chori going back to the year dot. Haven't yet decided whether said music is merely going to be scanned & PDFed, or whether software that'll generate teaching trax from the music will be needed.

They said the exact right thing, they laughed! I really do love our EMT's & Fire fighters. They are absolutely the best! They helped hubby out of his door which was the high side of the truck and asked me if I wanted help to crawl out the same way, or they could cut a hole in the windshield and I could walk out. I told them I would love to be able to walk out, thank you. They also loved that Pirate kept saying "hello" to them! Goofy little guy!

Whew! Glad you're ok.

Hubby was petting him when, without warning, he attacked hubby's hand. Not just a play attack - a real, "I will kill you if I can" attack. He spent an hour locked in the bedroom and has had his favorite toys taken away for the rest of the day.

Yes, once at a cat show. That and a Devon Rex. Sort of like Poodle hair, only on a cat! Very odd indeed. That was the show where my Mom's cat tried to eat the Judge...heehee! And Tabby is such a beautiful British Short Hair! Oh! Just a lovely brown tabby...with teeth..lots of teeth..and claws..she was Not into being shown. At all!

Oh dear! I hope Hubby is ok. Peroxide and water...my favorite post cat eating you attack remedy. Seriously though. The bet techs keep antibiotics on hAnd to take if they are ever bitten. Not quite the Gilla Monster poison level, but close...

Mrs CDK: sherpa...welcome back. We missed you! How is Sir Dragon and how is your knee??

lilyspad: Sherpa, how's the knee doing? AND, how is the venerable Dragon??

AlienDandelion: Yes Sherpa - everyone wants to know how you two are holding up down over there...

Hai guise! I'm hanging in there, the knee seems to be slowly improving (I don't think it liked all the wet/cold weather we had been having). More importantly, the white boy continues to appear to shrug off the fact that he is supposed to be ill. Lack of appetite? The little fuzzball is not only devouring breakfast and dinner, we have now added midnight snack. :o) I concede the fact that the vomiting has increased, but he is still running around with no lack of energy or mobility, still purrs and cuddles with me, and plays like a fiend (he is currently trying to steal the straw out of my glass as I type this) .... speaking of playing, I gotta go upload some pics I took earlier this evening of him with a new toy - stay tuned...

Hubby's fine - just scratched up a bit. It was unusual for Cracker Jack - we're used to play attacks but this was...more. He's been a sweet, apologetic kitteh for the rest of the day, but he's still not getting his toys back yet!

Well Lily got her gooshy fud, and now she's happy. I make her wait until I've had a beer after I get home from work. She doesn't wait "patiently" mind you! She is all up in my face trying to give me kisses, and then she pretends to eat at the hanging plant, and then walks all over the keyboard when I'm trying to type. After a bit, she will HUFF at me, and sit down to wait! I've never had a cat "huff"
at me....does anyone else's cats do this? It cracks me up every time!! :D

tigerose, if your lovely and poignant poetry, which comes from your heart and mind, didn't make you cry, laugh, smile or otherwise be affected from the thoughts that you are putting in to prose, I would be concerned! That's what it is SUPPOSED to do! And you do it well!

Thank you. I know I am sort of wierd, that I cry when I write about things that touch me deeply, and that I want to share. I even sometimes cry when I write happy poems too...human watering pot, that is me! I am so glad he is enjoying the potato. For those not in the know..when I had my Siamese, Aiko, and I was a broke student..I would take one dead pantyhose foot, stuff it with cotton and catnip..knot it, then turn it inside out and knot again. This was her favorite toy, until she passed at age 15 frm renal failure. So simple, but a certified kitteh delight! The smellier the foot the better!

I have an old bandana that I put catnip in and then tie it up in knots. Gremie likes to drop it in Jack's water dish. After he gets it good and wet he runs around the house throwing it everyone. I think he likes to see everyone jump away from the wet rag.
